Returned home whilst I-485 pending and looking to go on holiday...

I think I'm posting the right forum...

I was around 6 months in to my I-485 application after entering the U.S. on a K-1 visa. My wife changed a lot a few months in to our marriage and decided to break up our marriage. I tried very hard to work on and save our marriage as I love my wife very much but she just didn't want to even try.

Anyway, I returned home at the end of April. I sent in the Change of Address form to the appropriate address and also sent a letter to my, at the time, local USCIS office to inform them that I was returning home. The I-485 was and still is pending so nothing was ever approved.

My question is, if I decided to go on holiday to the U.S. in a couple of years time under the Visa Waiver Program, will there be any issues when I come to fill out the ESTA application and also entering the U.S.? I followed everything that I was suppose to when I was on the K-1 visa and also whilst the I-485 application was pending. I really don't want to be penalised on something that I had no control over.

Info and feedback will be appreciated.
