Preference for non-American mates

Green-eyed girl, I thought you were 4th generation American? Not trying to start anything, but I'm not sure what you mean by 'not ethnically American' -- just not ethnically whitebread?

I'm the only one in my family to date a non-American, and yes, Canadian counts. Sisters are younger than me though, so it's hard to say who they'll end up with.

My dad was born here during a visit by his parents to the states. His dad and grandfather became Americans the year before I was born; my mom never did. I'm not sure what that makes me, but since my grandfather and great grandfather earned their citizenship, I count them before me. I don't think that just being born on American soil makes you American; it may make you a US citizen, but not an American.

My first marriage was to an American man, white skin dark hair. After my divorce I went out with a man from Greece, then a man who was half greek half lebanese, a few from India. Living near a major Univeristy there are people from all over the world attending.

When I met my DH I was NOT LOOKING for anything or anyone. I was taking a break from dating, ok from men in general! I adore his accent. How is skin contrasts mine. How he is oldfashioned in many ways. What can I say, no man can compare to him.

I dunno. Lemme ask my fiance (who just happens to be marrying an American) and get back to you.

Never mind. It dawned on me after my last post that I must have misread the question (and I did). Too late to edit previous. :D

Ever since I was a young teenager I dreamed of being married to a woman from the South Pacific. With a Filipino wife I think I've come pretty close to realizing that dream, and I really couldn't be happier. However, I was not purposely looking for such when I came to know Fely. I just got lucky.

I can say I have preference to non-American. Not to say all guys are the same, but all that I have met have been exactly what I donnot want in a man.

This is my 2nd marriage too, both have been to non_Americans. My ex was very Americanized thou. Which was good and bad. I much prefer my current husband...and enjoy that he is not American or Americanized. He is very chivalrous and has that old world charm, which i have never found in an American man. (maybe there are out there, but i have not found any)

Yes, I was wondering the same thing.

I was wondering what "ethnically whitebread" means

I'm not surprised at the question. Americans tend to think of everyone else as "ethnic" except for themselves.

I would say that I had no preference, but my track record would say otherwise.

me, too!

How can one claim God cares to judge a fornicator over judging a lying, conniving bully? I guess you would if you are the lying, conniving bully.
