That's because in Europe and in America, fewer people are getting married as opposed to shacking up, and they are marrying older.

I will let you guys define Americans and what they like since I'm not ethnically American anyway. Like I said, American privilege requires that no one else can possibly do as good a job!

I would say that the defensive one is you. You are actually offended that I don't define myself by some paradigm you have drawn up in your own mind. How saying that I'm not ethnically American is offensive to anyone is beyond me.

Is it an insult to infer that there is American ethnic? If so, why?

If there is no American etnnic, why be offended if I don't consider myself to be a part of somethin that is non-existant?

I feel the same about your rhetoric, mrc. I've had no hateful words to offer you. I'm not angry, even tho you keep trying to bait me, nor do I hold to stereotypes. I'm sure that I never questioned your compassion or thoughtfulness. I honestly have no idea why my not being an ethnic American bothers you so much, but, by posting this fun and happy thread, I was not intending nor expecting to upset you or draw your ire.

I accept the fact that not everyone thinks as I do, nor do all see things as I do. So, whatever it is you see or think about what I actually said is not something I have been able to either fathom nor placate, so I am more than willing to let it go.
