Is it possible to just go ahead and get my medical...im just waiting for case complete for IR 5...looking at august-september interview...

Validity of the visa is tied to the date of the medical (6 month limitation), doing the medical too early could result in a very short validity time for the visa.

Agreed with Hank. You have to wait for the NVC letter with your scheduled interview date and plan from there, as it may still take some time (could be several months) at NVC stage.

IF you are 100% sure to get a case complete soon, then go ahead and do the medical in advance. That's what I did before because of the dreaded sputum.

Just remember that the visa validity is tied up with the medical validity which is just 6 months.

Good luck.

Thanks everyone..I decided to go and do my medical by next month........and can i bring my USC daughter who is 6 when i go to the US?will it be a problem @ POE..I got the permission to travel letter from her dad....

Of course you can bring your USC daughter with you to the USA. No issue at POE as she has a U.S. passport.
