  1. 1. 28% of Americans believe slavery warrants an apology. Are you part of that 28%?

  2. 2. Talking about slavery and black issues -

    • Makes me uncomfortable. The past is ugly, it's time to let go. It's a sunny day and the future is bright!

    • Is good. The past makes us who we are. There is no better way to understand our fellow Americans than to understand and empathize with their story.
    • Only commies want to talk about slavery and black issues. Murka!

Making a lip service apology? I think Marvin's right, the true apology would be the final admission that we are all one race and that black culture is not some inferior pseudo criminal culture that reveres the unwed mother with multiple partners. Perhaps when Americans actually embrace this reality a true change can come about and people will be treated simply on who they are and how they behave, not on what some people believe a person represents based on purely visual cues.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

This.

I'll be glad when problems will be just that, problems. It's amazing how government programs are used by different walks of life, but it's a black problem.

Now that I read this, I understand the NB is talking about food. I thought it was a tobacco product

I think the whole world should apologize to the whole world and get it over with. I don't believe it started in America:

Evidence of slavery predates written records, the practice of slavery would have proliferated after the development of agriculture during the Neolithic Revolution about 11,000 years ago.

Slavery was known in civilizations as old as Sumer, as well as almost every other ancient civilization, including Ancient Egypt,Ancient China, the Akkadian Empire, Assyria, Ancient India, Ancient Greece, the Roman Empire, the Islamic Caliphate, and thepre-Columbian civilizations of the Americas.[9] Such institutions were a mixture of debt-slavery, punishment for crime, the enslavement of prisoners of war, child abandonment, and the birth of slave children to slaves.

I for one do wish slavery never came upon the shores of North and South America. It forever changed the dynamics of this part of the world. It was a dark day in history when the first African and Irish slave's stepped upon this land.

I'd count the Chinese as slaves too.
