If your daughter returns to Canada for more than a year, she will need to apply for a Re-entry Permit (same form as AP) before she leaves the U.S.

While your daughter is out of the U.S., she will accumulate days of absence from the U.S. I'm not sure exactly how much of the time is necessary to be in the U.S. to be able to apply for Naturalization, but you can check the USCIS website for that information. I am pretty sure I read that for myself (originally K-1 Visa), I need to be in the U.S. for at least 18 months of the 36 months (from the time I got my GC to the time I can apply for Naturalization). Someone will correct me here if I am wrong.

And with regards to the medical insurance, in B.C. (where I am from), there is a 6-month residency requirement before being able to acquire Medical Services Plan coverage.

You will have to check with the province where your daughter will be living to find out if they have any continuous residency requirements for medical coverage.

You could get "travel insurance" for your daughter while in the U.S. when she leaves Canada to come to see you, etc.
