The K3 really only exists in the immigration guides. You're going for a CR1 by filling out the i130. If you want to fill in an i129f as well, it won't hurt you, but you're wasting postage, really, since even the petitioners from last year who waited over a year for their NOA 2 didn't get a K3.

I agree, save your time and effort by submitting only an I-130 minus the I-129F.

Getting the actual visa interview is a challenge at the NVC stage due to expedites for those affected by Typhoon Haiyan, plan on six months +/-.

That is very true but at least they will assign him a interview appointment instead of the headache of the k1 where you have to schedule a interview yourself online. At this point where there is so few but hundreds of people are trying to get a slot. Good Luck

Oh I agree with you, I would take the NVC wait after case complete any day. I would not want to be glued to a laptop or need to keep an ear tuned for the c4c alert hoping I can beat the other hundreds of folks clamoring for the same date.

Thank all for that information. I am new to all of this. And I need as much help as I can get on this topic.

View this chart for bit of comparison. The wait times to get the visa can safely be reduced by about 50% +/- a month or so to compensate for the extended time waiting to get an interview.
