uscis lost my application!

I mailed my I 130 package in f2a category to Chicago lockbox on May 28, 2014. I saw that it was delivered on June 02, 2014, and on June 06 I got return receipt with their stamp.

It's been over too weeks and no noa, so I called them today to inquire about the issue. After being on hold for over 2hrs the person I spoke to said they didn't see a case with the names I provided and they couldn't help me any further without a receipt number. I told them that I got a return receipt with their stamp on it and he said that doesn't mean anything to them , and it doesn't prove that they got my package. After a visit to the bank and finding out that the money order was never cashed, I called them back to let them know and to find out how to proceed from there, and they lady checked again for the names and said she couldn't find anything and that there was nothing else she could do.I am really concerned now!

what should I do??

The worst case is they reject your application and wait to send it back to you. Normally it takes about a month to get it back. It might result from anything from wrong $ amount on check, no signatures, etc. All you can do now to wait another week or resubmit the whole package. But don't forget to stop the check.

I can almost guarantee that they did not lose your application. This process will open up your patience level. The best thing to do is take it one day at a time; otherwise, you will endure unnecessary frustration for a long time.

The same thing happened to me except it was an I129F petition. I sent it before Thanksgiving only to find out, they could not find my package. I had to resubmit it in January, which pissed me off because now Im caught up in the backlog mess at TSC. Sorry
