Why does I-797 (NOA2) say "forwarded to consulate"

I just recieved my paper NOA2 today, and reading the text it says "The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate". I take that as it has skipped the NVC step and gone straight to the DR... However, could this be or do all of your NOA2 forms say this?

Yes, they say that, but they all do go to NVC.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

They say that so you don't call NVC and bother them :)

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Since you are a K1 you will only be at NVC for like 2 weeks then straight to Consulate. So that is why it saids that. NVC does not really touch it at all. COngrats again

Thank you. And another question related to the NOA2 paper: the expiration date is in October, does this insure that my interview will be before that or will i have to re-apply after the expiration date if, say, my appointment falls after that date?

In 2 weeks you can call nvc to know your case number.

About your expiration date , dont worry your interview can be after that without problem.

My expiration date was february and I had my interview on march, so the expiration date doesnt matter.

Once you know your case number you can check your status on ceac check visa status and know if your papers arrive to the consulate.

Thank you that clears that up! My case says "Ready" on CEAC but i am currently waiting on the cita date. I called today but was too early. i will give it at least another week and call again.
