Nearly two weeks after a campus shooting, graduates of Seattle Pacific University did their best to put the tragedy behind them. Some of the graduates wore maroon and white ribbons to honor the victims on Saturday, according to CNN affiliate KCPQ.

The university also gave one graduate special recognition. Jon Meis, who police say likely saved countless lives when he used his pepper spray and tackled the gunman, received a standing ovation for his heroic efforts.

The school also announced a scholarship to honor Meis. The award will go to a deserving engineering student.

And rightfully so. To many people will not do the right thing....so when a person does they should be honored.
