I-751 September 2014 Filers

Hello everyone, new to the forum. Actually joined today. We sent in our I-751 and the date on it was 09/08/2014. Did the biometrics in October. Got a letter requesting more evidence. Sent in what we had and then received another letter to appear in person for an interview. We really have very little evidence and we explained that in the letter with the evidence that we had sent in. We did our interview 2 days ago and the io mainly focused on the fact that we have no joint account showing comingling of funds. She told us that she will make her decision between 30 and 60 days and we will receive it in the mail. My extension expires in 2 days, she took my expired green card and told me to make an appointment to get a new extension stamp. Just a bit worried about how all this will turn out. Any thoughts, ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Check the link below to schedule an info-pass appointment with your local USCIS office as soon as you can to get the I-551 stamp in your valid passport and any other update on your case should be answered there too! Let us know how it goes.

Thank you for your replies. I have an appointment to get the extension in my passport. Has anybody else done an interview and the officer taken their expired green card? What do I do now if I want to file the N-400? Thanks so much for your help and support.

Do you not have a copy of your expired GC??? If you have a copy this is all you need to send them. Hopefully when you get the stamp the IO will be nice and might actually tell you if there is a decision on your case.

No the lady at the first desk took it and sealed it in a transparent bag and stapled it to my appointment letter. So basically I have nothing to prove my status which is why I have to get the stamp in my passport. Thanks for your response.

Just so you don't make the same mistake again, I will advice you to make two copies of everything you send them for N-400, this way if they ever need anything you can easily have it accessible to what you already submitted. If you had done that with the I-751 you would have had a copy of your GC, but it is too late to worry about it now, so just make sure when filing for citizenship you have a copy of the paperwork somewhere at home:)

After RFE was answered. We heard nothing. I waited until late July to call. They put in a service request. By mail we got a notice for an interview in downtown Federal Building. Had an interview together at the end of Ausgust. By the end of September I heard nothing and called again. Transfered to a second tier officer. He informed me we were

FINALLY

approved on September 3rd and they are just waiting on card production.

ONE YEAR after filing for Removal of Conditions, 4 years from the original K1denial, then CR-1/ IR1, lengthy POE....

my husband received his 10 year permanant residence card today in the U.S. mail.

Praise GOD.

Good thoughts to all that are still waiting.
