You should get a stamp in your passport from your local immigration office. You still haven't heard anything on your service request??? Did you contact your congressman? Wow they sure are taking a very very long time

yes, i already got stamped i-551 which is valid till april 2016, so in that case i don't need any extension letter?

I am hesitate to go to congress man ...one my frnd who is on H1 visa did approach congressman for his pending green card. USCIS responded in 2 weeks and they rejected his application on many grounds... they pull out his all data from his student visa to h1... his labor filling his employer.

If you have the stamp then you dont need another extension or anything else, until it is time for you to get stamped again or simply receive your GC

Wow, I seriously think you have waited way too long. If you don't want to contact your congressman that is fine, just make sure you file your N400, this way they will have no choice but find your application and process it. Also H1 is much different than married based, but I understand your worries, if IO/VSC want to be A-holes they sure can be.

Keep us posted, hopefully you hear something soon.

It was pretty soon you filed a service request, but check the date and just file another one past 30-35 days since the last one, at least they will have it on file for when they decide to open your case.

They have to make sure the RFE papers are with the originals papers and somebody look at your case again which will be like reopening your case, hopefully you hear something around July 15-th because it looks like they only work on paperwork around mid month of each month and this is it.

Hello. We called the office of our congressman and were told that "it can take 1 month until they hear back from USCIS". This is non-sense to me. I already waited 2 month and did not back from my service request. I thought congressman is faster in helping.

Not sure how your congressman's office operates but they should actually receive a response earlier than a month! Have you tried the USCIS Ombudsman?

My guess is that congressman hasnt done anything yet since they are waiting until 60 days after I opened the service request. I guess if I dont heard anything back from uscis by 60 days then I should call congressman again.. Right?

** guys, if I move and have to change my address, will that make the wait time even longer?!

So basically they will make you wait a year before they decide that your case is "maybe" out of normal processing times. That is horrible. I will wait for 60 days to the day and submit another RFE. If they were only getting paid based on the applications they completed not hourly/salary they will be probably on April filers already. Hopefully you hear some good news soon.

We did our interview 2 days ago and the io mainly focused on the fact that we have no joint account showing comingling of funds. She told us that she will make her decision between 30 and 60 days and we will receive it in the mail. My extension expires in 2 days, she took my expired green card and told me to make an appointment to get a new extension stamp. Just a bit worried about how all this will turn out. Any thoughts, ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I suggest you make an appointment so you can get the stamp in your passport and just go from there. If they say 60 days they might take actually more. There is a guy from December forum, I think, that is still waiting for a decision after the interview and it has been at least 4 months since his/her interview. Also when it comes to joint accounts if you guys had good reasons and proof for that you should be OK.
