Dear all,

Thanks... I called and was told that based on the letter they sent, I should wait at least 60 days after the date of the letter. How can I open a new service request when the agent knows that I already have submitted one?

I cant file for N400 yet, should wait 3 months to fulfill 33 months required after my green-card date, right?

My problem is my job, I wont be able to work after the 1-yr extension letter is over. Plus, I cant even switch my jobs because employers want a green-card that is not about to expire.

We dont know how to contact our local representative. What is that? The governor?

So here everybody believes that my case was lost or misplaced?

You can look up your states representatives online https://www.govtrack.us/congress/members

Select the state and get the name you need based on the county or area/region the person covers.

I didn't know you haven't reached your 33 months, I am sorry.

From what they told you wait another 60 days and submit another request, meanwhile contact your representative and also it is just my opinion they lost your case/misplaced it, but there is no other reason for them to be taking so long unless they misplaced and are doing all efforts to find it

Keep us posted, and let us know if there is any other way we can help:)

Good luck

You can get an extension at the Field office where you live. People do it all the time so you will be able to continue working.

Thanks. But what if we move to another state? We will have to come back to our current state everytime? My gc will expire in few months.

Question: if they possibly have lost our case or won't find it, what happens? We'll need to submit all again?

If they lost your case you will never know, they will just RFE you for the whole period of the marriage, so they can have the paperwork on file.

If you move to another state just change your address and make sure you forward your mail because it takes up to 10 business days for them to forward it. You won't need to come back to your previous state, they will know you moved and will be able to go to the new local office if they need any further assistance.

Thanks a lot. Today I am calling a state representative. Anyways.. Wish us luck.

USCIS gives us an address, determine the postal service we should use, and charge us $$$; then they just forget about us. I wonder why the governmental organizations are not under supervision so they do their job the right way. Oh, and by the way, we are in 21st century.

Depends, my friend contacted him 2 years ago and he responded within 2 days and she had her GC after 5 days of initially contacting him. I guess it varies from state to state and how busy they are at the moment you contact them. I know she had her husband contact him since he was the citizen.

Hello! 2014 September Filers,

Just wanted to drop in my update. So I receive my RFE on April 13th, I had just returned from vacation out of the country. I traveled with my extension letter, passport, and expired GC all went great. However, it took me a month to send more paperwork as proof since I wasn't sure what else to send. I sent in my RFE package on June 8th, 2015. This second time around I gathered all our bank statements since we married (3 years worth of statements), more bills, life insurance, health insurance, etc. I had initially sent pictures, daughter's birth certificate, leases, bills, and a few bank statements, but looks like that wasn't enough.

Finally, New Card is being produced, June 29th, 2015, so it's just a matter of time before I receive it through mail.

Thanks for all the updates, it really helps when everyone participates. See ya'll in the citizenship thread for July 2015 Filers!
