Oh come on, you'll be fine! We technically could have submitted our stuff a month ago, but we also decided to wait a bit to make sure we're ready, and everything is organized as good as we can. Hence we sent it off yesterday. No worries, you'll be fine!!!!!!

Hello everyone! We will be filing for my husband's ROC sometime this week. The 90 days started a week ago, but we have a few more friends who want to contribute affidavits, so we're giving them a little time. We will be filing with the VSC.

We were married in 2011 but we delayed the initial visa filing due to my husband's work and family issues, which he needed to deal with before leaving Australia. I plan to write up a brief explanation in a letter to include with this application. It does mean that we have some anomalies (bank account only in my name for first part of marriage, etc.) but hopefully it won't matter too much. I think our main issue will be lack of bills in his name or both names.

As of now, our supporting evidence includes:

-tax transcripts for 2011 (married filing separately) and 2012 & 2013 (married filing jointly)

-deed for our house filed with the county, naming us as married owners with community property rights and right of survivorship (I already owned the house when he moved here)

-bank statements from time he arrived and was added to account

-bank records for Australian account showing transfers into US account

-printout from credit union with information about our small joint savings account (no transactions on this yet though)

-printout from health insurance company showing both names on policy, plus copies of both insurance cards

-wills for both of us showing one another as beneficiaries

-medical power of attorney for each of us, naming spouse as holder

-doctor bill in his name sent to our address

-copies of emergency contact info for both us from our doctor's office

-printout of phone plan showing both phones (with names) on family plan

-copies of credit cards showing same account number

-copies of Costco membership cards and invoice

-YMCA joint membership invoice

-copies of my driver's license and his state ID, showing mutual address

-selection of travel documents (hotel stays, cruise docs, convention tickets in both names)

-selection of photos (together on vacation, hanging out with friends, etc.)

-a few cards sent to us as a couple, with envelopes showing address

-affidavits from my mother and several friends (probably 5 total)

I am nervous about it, and he is very calm about it, so I guess we balance each other out. But his calmness is driving me nuts. I'm freaking out, so he should be too! (just kidding)

Hopefully I will be able to report a successful mailing this week, and officially join the ranks of the waiting. Best of luck to everyone for a quick and painless process!

Honestly, I would agree with your husband! Your case seem more than good! I don't think the fact that the bills are not on BOTH of your names will be an issue after all these evidences. I think in no time you'll see, it was not worth to worry for. (I would be shocked if you got an RFE...like I cannot seem to see why). Let us know when you file exactly and we'll add you to the black list. And fingers and toes crossed to you and your husband as well!
