We went to the DMV this morning to get the Driver's license renewal done. We gave the officer the extension letter and GC. He said I don't think we can renew your license but let me ask my supervisor. The lady came over and said, Yes we can renew them for only one year. So I have them for one year now and it cost $4.00 :)

I also went to the DMV to renew my driving license. It was pretty ridiculous. The woman didn't understand that the NOA extends the green card AFTER it expires, and tried to give me a license that expires next October, instead of December. We had a little confrontation and she told me she "sees 30 of these a day" and "never makes mistakes", but also conceded that she "doesn't work for USCIS". I said it was unfortunate that she wasn't provided adequate training when dealing with immigrants, but hopefully she'll have learnt not to make the same mistake again.

They just don't know any better. I wish they would send people a new card that's extended for a year. It's really awkward showing NOA to an employer or anyone else for that matter.

Ok so I got my biometrics done today!!!!!!I I went to Elizabeth location today and explained I that I have two major exams this Tuesday. They said that they're not allowed to let people get their BIOs done early. I got upset and decided to drive 1,5h to Philadelphia. It was the best decision I've made in a long time. My Biometrics were done in less than 10 minutes, no questions asked. They even omitted the fact that there was a mistake in my lastname. I was the only one there :) For anyone who wishes to get the biometrics done early I strongly suggest that you go to ASC in Philly. Wonderful staff, great experience.

Going to try and do this at our local office on Monday. Hope they do not give us a hard time!

I googled Philadelphia Biometrics walk in experience. That's how I found out which offices were walk in friendly. Good luck

So I just went through August, July, June and May. Only one person out of June filers received GC. As for the May filers almost all California applicants have their GC. Vermont May filers are still waiting. So ladies and gents; there's a long wait ahead of us. Good luck to all of us.

Woot! Got the bio letter today. Appointment is for 10/23. Looks like VSC is on a roll.

Thanks to KASH and Another Lost soul for keeping the list updated, too. This thread is so helpful. I had guessed we would get the bio letter this week and that the appointment would be for the 22nd or 23rd--all due to the info kept here. So thanks to everyone who contributes! I feel better knowing what's going on (though my husband, who is the actual immigrant, is totally nonchalant about the whole thing!)
