Question regarding my 221g

My fiance had his interview at Montreal 6/13/14 and everything was fine except my divorce decree did not have the raised seal. He was given a 221g and told to send his passport with the document back to them, then they will issue the visa.

I thought I had lost my original so I sent a Certified copy with our I-129f and then sent him another Certified copy to take to his interview. Both of these had a stamp saying they were certified copies of the original, but neither had a raised seal. I called the court to see why they did not have a raised seal after the interview and they said they only stamp them if I ask for it. So I went and got another Certified copy WITH a raised seal this time. I sent the document via Express mail to him yesterday. After I sent that to him, I started looking through a box of papers and found the original. It does not have a stamp, seal, or even a wet signature from the judge.

My question/worry is...will the Consulate accept the Certified copy with the raised seal or do I need to send the original also even though it does not have a seal?

I am sure I am not the first person to not have the original of a court document and have to get a court certified copy. I would think that it would be just as good as the original and in my case maybe even better since my original does not have the seal.

Certified copy is fine. You are not the first, I went to the courthouse and asked for a certificate stating that they reviewed the records and that I am indeed divorced. It had a shiny gold sticker on it. I sent in a photocopy of that, and they never questioned on it. I think this is strange, since this should have triggered an RFE prior to NOA2 being issued, since that is the part when they review the USCs information.

That is what I kinda though too. I am glad I am not the only one who thinks it is strange. I just hope it doesn't take a really long time after they receive it to issue the visa. Thanks!
