I called this morning and now I have my MNL # !

Should we get the interview scheduled now?

I heard that we need to wait for the embassy to send our fiancé(e) a letter saying they've received the case files. Then from there they're going to send them the packet 3 for more instructions. When the case files arrives in their country then we can do online and do the DS-160 and submit it.

Let me know if that is correct or not? I'm waiting to do the next step!

So does petitioner have to send anything to NVC? Such as Affidavit of support? Or once NVC sends 129f package to the embasse, embassy sends Package 3 to my beneficiary and that's where embassy will request affidavit of support? So Petinioner just sends Afidavit of support and all other docs to the Beneficiary and wait for embassy?

We also got a NAO2 on 13th June and our case was forwarded to NVC on 18th June. Hope they assign a case number sometime soon.

well, we FINALLY got approved May 12th, took awhile but NVC just got our case June 3rd. won't have case # for 30 business days, so sometime in July...waiting until then

I think it was a combination of him overstaying his visa when he was in the US and I was divorced, so yeah long wait time

I got my Case Number yesterday and CEAC said "AT NVC."

I check it today and now it says

"In Transit"

"Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center."

What does this mean? What do I do? I already have a scheduled interview?! I do not want to schedule it yet because we have to talk about a good time

Relax, don't freak out. it is a generic message. You will be in contact with US Embassy to schedule interview.

This just means they sent it to US Embassy

Just found this thread!! We got approved on June 16 the petition was shipped to NVC on the 19th, so I will start calling this week to see if they received our petition. I can't wait to get the ball rolling!!!

I gave them a week then I called them. My case was assigned a case number by the time I called. I heard it also depends on how busy they are too. I called as soon as they were opened and that seems to be a good time cause I tried calling back an hour later and couldn't get through. Good luck!

I went to check on DHS for my case status update and it says its "READY"!!!!! WOW! I was so surprised! From reading what that means from VJ, my case is in the Embassy's hands now and we are waiting for a letter/packet 3 from them so my fiancé can fill it out and submit it to them!

It's going so amazingly fast and I pray that it continues to be smooth sailing throughout the rest of the paperwork there too! Good luck to everyone!

Congrats! If you call, call as soon as they open. I was like on the phone as soon as they turned their phones on for business of the day! They should have a case number assigned to your case by Monday. Cause I called a week later too and I received mine. You can track your case with those case numbers on DHS all way the to the embassy!

OP, are you specifically looking for K1 or other visa categories too? The IR1/CR1 already have a monthly NVC process thread in which they can ask questions, but you may want to start K1 thread even though there isn't anything for K1 to do but get case numbers.
