If THEY called you in for a second set of fingerprints, that's usually a pretty good sign they are about to spit out a greencard.

Notice I used the word 'usually'.

I don't think a lot of the newcomers to VJ know how to wait. I've never seen such whining and complaining.

People, when you all got into this mess, did you really think you could pull up to the drive-thru window and get your visa and greencard, hot and fast, have it your way, blah blah blah?

Take a look around you before you type out how 'unjust' your situation is. Our situation is bad and STILL I see MANY others waiting longer. Lots longer and with deeper more pressing situations.

If you don't like what you see with the immigration process, then do something about it besides complain. Write your congressman or senator. Join a political action committee. But don't just come on here looking for a jiffy-pop visa and expect to get any sympathy from me.

You are so right! I've seen so many "I want it and I want it now...why don't I have it already" kind of posts lately. People looking for loopholes or the fastest way possible. We all want it to happen and happen as fast as possible. It ain't gonna happen til it happens. The ones I've seen with severely unjust situations are the ones I rarely see complain.

LOL...unlike me. I'm ranting about this all the time lately. Most unflattering.

I've calmed down some in the few hours since I wrote that, plus I've had a nap (I'm usually fairly racked by Tuesday - the end of Wes' shift). So I apologize if my comments seemed harsh.

Those at CSC have the benefit of teams of extra staff that have been hired especially to pump these petitions through. Even those caught in namecheck will process faster once the security clearance is done than somebody whose file is at another service center. I've seen people's files slowly grind through the process at local offices with immense caseloads. The security clearance is done but files move wrenchingly slow from desk to desk. Greencards on approved cases don't get issued for months.

I know of one individual who even filed Writ of Mandamus for his wife's case (after being caught FOUR YEARS in security clearance) and received (magically) her approval shortly after the case was filed. She got the stamp in her passport, but her greencard was not in her hands for another EIGHT MONTHS!

That won't happen with California transfers. DHS has brought in a huge staff to clear out the backlog. A CSC transfer is an immigration god-send. I'm really pleased to see DHS doing at least SOMETHING about speeding up the process. I just wish there was a bit more fairness and levity with their decisions.

But then....nobody ever guaranteed that everything in life would be fair now - did they?
