Lol, thanks. I've learned better than to be impatient, especially since I know people like you and others have waited a LOT longer than me, and since greencards used to take upto a year or two so this whole "I want it done in a month or two or else I'll complain a lot" idea annoys the snot out of me (not referring to the OP, just in general). Although, if it comes to July and no greencard I'll be very unhappy since we want to get a house!

As of now the only processing dates for CSC I485 are for employment based AOS, not family based, so there are no processing dates for us.

James and all thanks for the replies. Our case definitely shows that one must wait. We filed the AOS December 2004 and were transferred to the CSC February 2005 after having fingerprints January 2005. The only reason the message changed is because this past November we went to our service center (more than two years since marriage) and asked what was going on. My wife had a second set of fingerprints taken December 15 or so 2006. I am hoping we get something in the mail in the near future.........................but I'll probably have to fill out my third I-131 just so she can visit back home this summer and get back into our country.

Your wait is absolutely absurd! :P I wish I could bring better news saying your message change meant something good but as I'm sure you know there are no guarantees until that message says approved, and even then things can go awry.

Oh and this is Miranda :) James never posts and I need to change our username but it won't let me until May :P

Miranda, I know this is on this site somewhere, but I do not have time to look. How does one know if their packet has been "touched?" Thanks......................

If THEY called you in for a second set of fingerprints, that's usually a pretty good sign they are about to spit out a greencard.

Notice I used the word 'usually'.

I don't think a lot of the newcomers to VJ know how to wait. I've never seen such whining and complaining.

People, when you all got into this mess, did you really think you could pull up to the drive-thru window and get your visa and greencard, hot and fast, have it your way, blah blah blah?

Take a look around you before you type out how 'unjust' your situation is. Our situation is bad and STILL I see MANY others waiting longer. Lots longer and with deeper more pressing situations.

If you don't like what you see with the immigration process, then do something about it besides complain. Write your congressman or senator. Join a political action committee. But don't just come on here looking for a jiffy-pop visa and expect to get any sympathy from me.

If you go to your portfolio on the USCIS website (I'm assuming you've set one up, if not then I can explain how to do that as well) there should be a "Last Updated" date on there next to your I485 case. When that date changes but the message when you click on your case has not, then that's a touch.

I am not sure exactly what you mean. I enter our msc.......etc. number in the box on the USCIS home page and our information comes up. I do not see where to register. Its been so long since I signed up onto their website.
