Hi,

If you can please help me in my case.

My mother an american citizen submitted for me an I-130 immigration application (I am unmarried over 21) was accepted and forwarded to NVC where it is now under processing (was submitted orginally in 2010).

Now I received a scholarship to study two years master in the US with a 2 years presence condition. Every thing approved, submitted visa application, DS-2019 ready and sent by them. Now I have an interview very soon.

What are my chances to be rejected or accepted here, for the J1 visa I mean?

I have a girl friend here (not american) and expecting a baby soon and got papers and documents proofing this, would this help?

Thank you for your great assistance

Hi everyone

Although I did not receive one reply, I would like to share my experience. Doing this because I know that there are tens of people who share my case and are facing the same problem as me but no answers at all can be found on the internet.

I did the interview few days ago. and after few questions (you can find samples of questions on the internet) the consular told me to keep my passport and I will receive it with the visa in few days. so I made it !

The law is clear, there is term indicating the denial. Stressed?! I know and it is natural to be, but try not. better focus on how to prove that you are staying. being married or in a relationship helps a lot to be accepted. If you are sponsored by the US government through a scholarship this also gives you a HIGH plus. If you are thinking to register by yourself in a university and pay the fees from your own money, a recommendation (DO NOT). It does not worth it although you might be lucky to be accepted also.

finally there is no definite answer in this case (I think what really matters is who sponsors you? and what is your marital status?)

And guys who thought to write a reply but they did not because they were lazy or not sure, I say to you: Please when a person is very stressed and in such a situation at least write few nice words for the sake of support, not asking for much.

good luck for everyone.

In case you have the same situation and still need some detailed answers, please write that in a comment and I will try my best to answer you.

Thank you,
