Hi,

If we are using the consulate in Montreal and we want to do electronic processing do we do the ENROLL e-mail that is talked about on this site. Someone else posted that you don't need to. If you do need to do you need to wait for a case number and IIN or can I do it now that I have NOA2

After you receive your approval and your case goes to NVC you will be asked to file online for your DS-160. It will ask you for your email address. When you call NVC after that they will verify your email address during that call. All correspondence from that point will be done by email. You don't have to register on line for email delivery. I have never had to and everything comes to me, my husband, & lawyer by email.

Hi,

I was actually wondering abut the EP (electronic Processing) where you don't send any hard copies to NVC but submit everything on line. I think that that is different then getting e-mail from them.

Also, bonie and bob. When looking at your time line it seeems like you got your complete before other things. Is it just a typo?

You need to enroll in order to be able to submit your AOS and IV packets by email. I would suggest you do this ASAP because it takes a month for them to get to your email and process your request. You will want yourself enrolled before it is time to submit your packages to lessen your wait time.

Posted

I have also heard that you don't need to send the enroll email anymore. But you might as well send it... And then just send your stuff by email when it comes time for that, whether you've got a confirmation or not. NVC doesn't always follow it's own rules, so you're covered either way. They look at emails in order, so they will have seen the enroll email before they get to your packages.

IR1/CR1 cases never do the DS-160. Perhaps you mean the DS-260 and for people without lawyers, there is a lot more to the process that you describe.

According to the NVC website you no longer have to send an ENROLL email to optin for the electronic processing from Canada, should you chose to use it.

You must wait for a case number and IIN to send anything to the NVC.

Your right it was the DS-260. I did also filed online the DS-160 is this mess of applications. My k3 has been in Montreal for 3 months waiting. They took my interview fee & then they cancelled it and now want to proceed with the CR1 that has been sitting at NVC also for the past 3 months. After 8 calls to NVC I can assure you that you do not have to enroll for email communication. This is all automatic once you file a DS-260 or DS-160 and she also said if you set up for email it will only send stuff twice. I paid for my CR-1 interview fee & AOS fee so now I just sit and wait. With any luck I will be home for Christmas this year.

Hi,

We are thinking of using electronic processing for our IR1 visa and wondered if anyone has done this recently with Montreal and if they could give any pointers. It seems like you don't have to send the ENROLL email anymore but there is conflicting reports. So is there anything else that I need to know about EP

Thanks

Pam

Hi,

Please read my signature.

It took a month for us to receive Enroll acceptance email. Only after enroll acceptance you can email your documents.

Many times NVC can't find AOS or IV emails and "response to checklist" emails. Very confusing!

When NVC review your IV package they immediately issue a checklist email asking for AOS documents even if you have already sent them. VJs call this "False checklist" Very confusing again!

Please scan your transcripts into PDF. Never send the pdf downloaded from IRS. Read my signature please.

Still I think it is a lot safer to send electronically than snail mail.

Just imagine if they loose your real documents!

Supervisor could not find my original AOS email. I think in the previous call, the supervisor has moved my email from my folder to my husband's folder. We are parents of USC IR5 category identical to CR1.

Good luck!

K3 was totally a waste of your time, especially going through Montreal. I wish we'd been able to help you with that beforehand. :( They historically close the I-129F once they find out they have an approved I-130 on file. I was very surprised earlier this year for a K3 couple through Vancouver actually but it did work out for them.

Did this page used to have the Enroll instructions and now that they don't there is no need for the email? Is that how we know that it is not required?
