I-864 question number 20:Question

Question number 20 asks about military service and active duty. It says it is to be completed by petitioner sponsors only.

My dad is the Co Sponsor, but when filling these forms out through the PDF it would not let him check the box no. Usually this happens becuase another box was checked, I am assuming in this case the co sponsor box.

Is this a box he should check? What exactly is a "petitioner sponsor"? Thanks

Question 20 does not apply to " substitute or joint sponsors".

So this means I am the one that has to check or not check the box? For some reason the PDF won't let me check it whenever I check the "citizen" box on question 19. I guess I should just check it with a pen?

may be an issue with your adobe.

.......i checked the citizen box and checked no for military service. Did you check "a) I am the petitioner. I filed or am filing for the immigration of my relative." in part 1 of the affidavit?

Yes I did, for some reason it keeps unchecking the military box.. Will there be any problem if I hand check that part of it while the rest is typed?

You can check or write parts of the form by hand if needed.
