Me and my wife had our interview this week and got approved. The card is on the way to our home and all.

But today we received two mails. First is about the approved I-485, welcoming me to the US. The other is on my wife's name about I-130, saying that the petition has been approved but I am NOT eligible to adjust status. WHAT THE HELL????? This is the letter: http://i.imgur.com/TpHbmTx.png

Should I call them? What is this? The dates for both letters are the same!

I even just got the email from them saying USPS has my card and it's on the way to my house! Are you sure I should ignore it? Not that I doubt you, I just don't want them to say something later on "you should've called" or something.

And yes, my wife is a US citizen and when I sent the documents, I sent them all at once.

I'm not quite sure I understand this one?

I mean any mistake from USCIS always and always comes back against the applicant and never against USCIS.

In other words, when the time comes for ROC or Citizenship, USCIS will never say hoo yes we made a mistake on your GC in 2014 but you know... that's fine because it was our mistake...LOL. USCIS will never say that.

I am not doubting on your approval but I would call them if I were you, and have them fixed it before moving ahead for ROC and Citizenship.

The interviewer told us we were approved. But I will call them, cuz I won't be able to sleep otherwise. Do you happen to know their number?

You don't have to worry yourself. You are now an LPR based on your interviewer, but just call them to make sure everything in the USCIS system is ok too.

For the number I am sorry I don't have it.

Maybe Harpa can give you a hand with that. She is well informed...

Good luck.

Other people have gotten this message too, when they were eligible to adjust status.

Your I-485 cannot have been approved without the I-130, and your I-485 would not have been approved if you were not eligible to adjust status.

This has happened before. Ignore it.

The important message is the approval part, not the random gibberish they add at the end. That part is not legally binding or important.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

I want to thank you very much for your help. I was freaking out and you calmed me down.
