My wife and I just got married and now we are beginning the AOS process. My question is for all the filipinos/as. My wife says that in the philippines when you get married your maiden name becomes your middle name. When we apply for adjustment of status is it ok for her to put her maiden name as her middle name, and my last name as her last name?

Thats what we did. My fathers last name is now my middle name and my new last name is my husbands last name.

Yes, that's exactly what I did in all my AOS forms.

If she has applied for SSN before marriage using her maiden name, she can request for a name change in her SS card after the wedding or when she received her EAD/AP card.

That's what my wife, Chinook, did too: she used her maiden surname as her married middle name, and she used my surname as her new surname. No problems. And like sweet cakes said, your wife can update her Social Security card if she needs to.

We went to change her ss card after our marriage and the social security office said we must first change it with homeland security. I am not sure how to do that!

File for AOS in married name. When you receive the EAD/AP or green card, then go to the SSA and her SSN in her married name.
