Its hard to blame a person who voted against the war and then, while in office, followed his predecessor's scope of work in the country (IE he didn't pull troops out the day he took office).

While the situation isn't great, Iraq's borders don't really make any sense and a sunni country forming out of North Iraq seems logical.

Not great? That's a bit of an understatement I would say. These guys make the Taliban look moderate in comparison. Anybody who is not Sunni is considered an enemy of that particular branch of Islam.

Get the Kurds their own state in the north of Iraq and Turkey, nobody f***s with the Kurds and they don't hate the west plus they won't tolerate terrorist's. Let the rest of the country sort itself out, divide along sectarian lines or whatever, years of western intervention didn't help and won't now.

Your not making any sense, first you accuse the dems of continuing to blame Dubya for everything, and then same breath, you admit that this disaster didn't end with his presidency. The Republicans blamed Obama from day one, so it's hardly a surprise for me that Dems might not be too willing to take anything anyone in the says in republican party seriously. I'm still waiting for the unemployment rate to jump through the roof thanks to Obama care, nor have I read or heard anything about Obama, the Muslim/communist/socialist/terrorist/dictator/President for life, etc, etc.. to announce his third term in office and his mandatory confiscation of all non-government controlled firearms.

It's all still upon us. Any moment now. There's a great tinfoil hat thread right now that illustrates just how imminent the threat really is.

First we should seize the oil fields. Keep them as occupied territory. Kick out all the locals. Then let them all kill each other, cause let's be honest, if the oil as not involved who would give a shat about iraq

It's always easy to be cavalier about something that doesn't effect you personally, and when people are half a world way, it is even easier. I guess this what Bush and his cohorts were probably thinking when they decided to invade Iraq.

You said maybe I should go. I told you what I would do. I personally don't give two shakes of pigs ####### about them. We need oil. Those violent backwads would still be eating sand and living in caves if western culture, had not evolved. I say let them all kill each other, then lot god sort them out

Interesting, you are calling them violent, while advocating that the US or your good self and what ever army go over there and steal their oil for our benefit.

My violence has a motive ..OIL

They just kill each other in the name of some god or another.

We are more powerful than them so we need to take. Get lots of free oil. Jump start our economy . Maybe give them some royalties. make them buy all the imported stuff we send over there. BAM economy fixed.

Test #######

Edit-- I be darn they are now blocking sound alike words

I personally don't see how they can blame Obama for a mess that Bush started. Although I'm somewhat surprised to see this mess in Iraq. The mess that follows in Afghanistan will make this Iraq thing seem like small potatoes. There was never a good reason to go into Iraq. We kinda didn't have a choice with Afghanistan after 9/11. I was thinking about the last time we went to war and it could be declared a clear victory. Seems like WWII was the last time. Korea is debatable since NK is still what it is.

BTW I'm not counting things like Grenada and Panama.

Thats because WW2 was the last war in which we supported one mission, which was to break things and kill people.

I read an interesting book in 2007 about the Iraq war. I wish I could remember the name of it. The premise of it was that the war was in fact about oil, but not in the way most think. It was about limiting the world supply of oil so that the price would go up and enrich the oil companies even more instead of getting more oil. This graph seems to support that theory in part:
