Driver licence

My wife just received her EAD/AP combo card from her K1 visas, now she wants to get her driving license for NJ.

We went to the DMV and they told her that she has to wait for the S.A.V.E. verification which can take a few days to a few weeks.

Anyone else have this experience and how long did it take to be resolved?

Do I have to get an info pass and go to a USCIS office to see what the problem is?

And can i travel with her out of the country now? i am worried now that something is wrong with her card and

she may not be allowed back into the country if she leaves

Hoping someone can help with these questions

I'm having the same problem. I got my EAD on Saturday and on Tuesday I tried to renew my Nebraska drivers license (I already have one that expired with my I-94). They took the photo, did the eye test etc and then told me I would have to wait to receive a letter because they couldn't verify my EAD. I didn't get any other info so I have no idea how long it will take or what it means, but it must be something that happens a lot.

Just to let you know I got my verification letter on Saturday (less than a week after trying to renew my licence) and went back to the DMV today with no problems.
