Australia has a flag with red, white and blue and wears yellow and green uniforms like Brazil. Chile flag is largely red, so they wear white uniforms. The camera hardly ever zooms in on the players so I have no idea who is who. Not n00b friendly.

The team colors aren't unique to football. If you watch the Olympics (and I suppose all international competitions) they wear the same colors. Aus wears green and yellow (can't remember why, though red white and blue are too common of flag colors :)) and the Netherlands wears orange (I think their royalty are from the house of orange or something). No idea about Chile.

AOS for my husband

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package

As a greenhorn, it's hard to tell which team is which. In the major sports in the US, the uniform has Boston, NY, etc on it in plain view. At the World Cup, I don't see any easy designation. Just an observation. I think it would be more new fan friendly it they had the country names on the uniforms.

I agree about the red, white and blue flags. There are a lot of them.

I would have preferred a better outcome for Germany, of course, but it was a great game indeed. Looking forward to the Portugal - US game tonight.

I really enjoyed watching the Germany game, two different styles of play. The Germans are very methodical, like a machine. But I also liked Ghana's fast break and how they had a few 1 on 1 shots too. I still don't believe the US beat Ghana after watching them play Germany yesterday.

I agree and I totally understand... but...

The Yankees, for instance, have the Y on top of the N logo that would be hard for people to see if they didn't expect it. They also don't put the names of the players on their jerseys (which is just one thing I hate about them). They expect that people know who they are. So it's not as new fan friendly as it might seem. I think Aus thinks that everyone knows they are green and yellow, but maybe you should be the one to trounce their view of themselves :)

But the away jersey has New York spelled out on the front, and at least the logos are better than nothing, IMO.

Filed: Country: England
Timeline

Let's see if this n00b has got this part correct. The teams that are mathematically eliminated thus far are Cameroon, Spain, Australia and Bosnia. Technically England still has a chance?

No, England are out. :(

Don't interrupt me when I'm talking to myself
