England's style of play is based on pace and work rate, whereas Continental European teams employ a higher degree of technical skill and tend to play a slower game. England's game is unsuited to Brazil's heat and humidity and their fatigue showed toward the end of both of their matches in this tournament. Qatar in 2022 will be a nightmare.

Latin American teams play with more natural flair and don't like dealing with the physicality of the European game. Mind you, when they're on top of their game, they can take apart a European team and make it look easy.

Thank you once again for the info. I have a lot to learn. I do see the difference in the style of play say between Germany and Chile or Brasil. Some teams play a fast style, others more precise and deliberate. I really enjoyed the Chile game yesterday.

I think the Italians might be a little worried, right about now. The second qualifying spot in the group is between them and Uruguay, and the world saw what a difference Luis Suarez made for Uruguay against England.
