I'm done with online DS260 declaring my STILL valid passport and that of my derivatives. Copies of which will be forwarded to NVC in a few days. Though our passports are still valid by the time of the interview (which is not gonna happen soon because PD is July 2004) BUT most likely passports are less 6 months from validity by the time visa is released or from departure.

So my question, has anybody here experienced RENEWING the PASSPORT before the interview? Passport details declared in form DS260 and submitted documents contain my existing (and still valid) details. Just like NBI clearance and CENOMAR, I should get the updated certificates before the interview right? What about if I also want to update my passport. Can I do that and inform NVC that I have a new one?

Appreciate your replies

Yes. No problem with what you plan to do. Numerous people have done that and the embassy knows to handle this situation. Just bring both passports to the interview.
