If he gets married for "immigration purposes" then he is done before he begins anyway.

Either he wants to get married or he doesn't and that is a relationship issue not an immigration issue.

Tread carefully here and understand how it can be interpreted.ooooh MY I am writing a friend and the mother of his children sorry I know it's relationship issue

But as immigration may see it is "why now get married". Why didn't you marry either woman before you left. Everything this person does will look suspect than you throw in the mix he is coming out of Lagos also.

America is throwing criminals out and now he is asking to be let back in. See the issue. Tell him to seek a lawyer and see what can be done.

Exactly. Lagos will almost be impossible with all this.

This is not a DIY issue or forum help matter. Lawyer up. Not just any lawyer but an experienced waiver lawyer, which will cost

$6000-$8000 + for your situation. The hardship has to prove that the USC is having true hardship (not just financial)

without him, seems like they have made it all these years since he was deported just fine without him so you it does not look promising.

This is a huge undertaking. Crime just does not pay and makes one's life miserable with permanent consequences.

Best wishes.

He was deported 16 years ago, so I guess the 15 year old is possible, but the 13 year old?

That is what I was wondering about too!

The movie Frest Gump, he says "I never been a smart man", classic! But even Forest Gump could understand these dates don't match up.

He is reading as well he said he commited drug offences

Drug dealing?

It will depend on his record. Also, his whole criminal history will need to be explored because DHS doesn't always charge everything they can. It also depends on the ground on which he was removed. Some bar him for 10 years, some for 20 and some for life. Also, while a parent can obtain a 212 or 601 waiver for a child, the reverse is not true.

He needs to start making a life where he is or in a country other than the US. Even his children, when they turn 21, will have a hard time obtaining a waiver if one is even available. How can you say I need my father and can't make it here in the US without him after you have already made it 10 or 15 years without him? Same if he married. First it would have to be a legitimate marriage and then the wife would have to prove how she suddenly can't survive without him in the US.

drug dealing and other crimes? Really? Why do we need this individual back in the US, where he would likely renew his life of crime? Given even the barest outline of his transgressions, imagine you were an adjudicator of said petitions...would you want your name on an approval, then hear about the trail of misery this person would likely leave behind once arriving in the US? I wouldn't. Our prison population is large enough already...

With prior drug convictions coupled with a deportation, his chances are slim at best. He could hire a lawyer, throw a few thousand dollars at it and see what happens, but we're talking a really marginal chance here.

The US takes a very hard line against drug crimes, as he has already discovered.

Multiple drug offenses is a lifetime ban with nearly a zero change of waiver

Ditto

It is a life-time ban if crimes were multiple

there was drug dealing its almost impossible

re-entering moves it to 20 yrs ban

Previous GC holders most times will be denied 212(H)

Marrying now ? Y not B4....will smack of immigration benefit

Most waiver attys will not take multiple agg felon cases but he can try Carl Shusterman

I always try to see/give ppl a glimmer of hope posting I C none here

Maybe wait to see if laws change regarding this matter

NSC will advise wife & kids to go live with him.
