Timeline

If I can recall correctly, last year around this time they were blasting through petitions before the holiday season, I think because it was the holidays. If I remember correctly, it was after Christmas that things started to really take a turn for the worse, assumingly because so many petitions started coming in after that. Back then Imad and I were considering applying for the CR-1 and a B-2 and we were observing the K1 and CR-1 trends and boards. Because there will be so many federal holidays, I think they will have to work even harder to pick up the slack, so I would be surprised to see nearly every June filer and some July completed by early January. . .

I wish we would hear something

in the end they have to do their job, and it won't be fair just to spend whole December to get themselves ready for Christmas and the new year while other people are waiting patiently to reunite with their beloved ones.

I JUST GOT APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just received 14 texts and 2 emails stating that there had been an update to my case and when I logged onto the website like I do everyday suddenly a big CONGRATULATIONS! message appeared. For what it's worth I made an appointment to speak to an immigration office on the website. There is a place where you can request an appointment and I followed all of the instructions, filled in all of my information but when it got to the place that asked what was my reason it gave 4 or 5 options to chose from. None of them applied to me and all or most sounded like you needed to have a receipt or something authorizing the appointment. In any case, I went not knowing if I would actually get very far. When I arrived I felt a mix of hope and frustration because the office I was at was the one that I called everyday for updates and would lie about the progress as everyone here has experienced. I felt hope that if I could just speak to the right person or someone willing to do more than read off of their screen it would be more than I could hope for. My appointment was for 1:10, I arrived at 12:30 and didn't get called until 2pm. They lady I saw looked like she hated her job so I wasn't so hopeful but as we spoke I felt like she was trying to acknowledge that the website sucks and prevents anyone even them from seeing much. She said that she tried to look on another part of the website only available to employees that they can see if the case has been opened but she said even that was down. She said that she could see if the system would let her submit a request to expedite our case. I knew we had no reason to expedite it and considering previous occasions on the telephone I was told that I couldn't even put in a request for inquiry, I really didn't expect it to work. I decided to be completely honest and told her that my fiance had no reason to be expedited but asked her if she could tell me the acceptable reasons so that I could pick from one. She kind of looked at me like, are you nuts?!? I just started rambling and without having to ask her she insinuated that because I personally knew many people (that's you guys btw...) whose packets were received in June and approved, the wait for decision was therefore outside the normal range and could be an excuse for a request to expedite. I walked away with mixed feelings because at that point I felt like she could tell me she was doing something and she wasn't or that it wouldn't make a difference anyways and to be honest, how could her request have done anything so fast? For what its worth I wanted to let you all know what happened in detail so that if you thought it could help you, then do it by all means. I am going to update my timeline now. Don't lose faith no matter what, everyone is getting an approval!!! :)

Thank you!!

I just logged in again to the USCIS website in fear that I had mistaken something and not only does it say that our I-129F has been approved it stated that on 11/20 my request for inquiry was assigned to someone and and that again was assigned on 11/24 because no one had responded to it. I think that is funny, like they were complaining about their own system. And then on 11/29 they sent a response to my inquiry and then again on 11/29 it was completed. #######, so I guess my inquiries were actually doing something?? I had to request an inquiry several times before they would let me. I can also see in another area that a request to expedite my case was made today (from my appointment) and is still pending...lol! CALL AND REQUEST AN INQUIRY!! It is impossible to know if that helped my situation or not but if it could help you try it is worth it.

When I called the 800# on my NOA1 after my 5th month, and it was probably my 3rd or 4th time calling, the officer I was speaking to asked if I wanted to submit a request for inquiry as if it was something I would say no to and I said YES! After that I asked to do it again and was denied. Then the next time I asked and they said ok and could see that I had requested it but that no one responded, hence their note that I mentioned above, and they submitted another one for me. It is so frustrating that before a decision is made on the case you cannot see anything online and as soon as they decide your case you can see everything.

I tried to submit an inquiry on the USCIS website but it gave me a message saying that my case was still in the normal processing time and an inquiry could not be submitted at this time. My file date is June 25.

Thank you!!

I called the 800# and pretended to not have/no my case number so that it directed me to an officer. Some people recommend to ask for a tier 2 officer and sometimes I asked for one but sometimes they refused to transfer me. I called so many times it is all a blur but that was how I made the request for inquiry. I made the appointment to speak to an immigration officer in person on the USCIS website under tools and then below the section for "after you file" select make an appointment. It oopens a page that says Infopass. It basically like having the same conversation that you may have on the phone via the 800# but in person however no one ever asked if I wanted to try an expedite my case so in all honesty I think that either they were looking at my case and no one was able to tell me or my request for inquiry that I made over the phone actually pushed someone to open it. I'll never know but its ok because all I needed to know was that it was approved.

Yeah they told me that until they started processing cases from June that I was still outside of the date and I kept insisting that they had approved cases from June, July, August, etc...and so I was outside of the normal wait time. Maybe we just have to say it until the right person hears it?

Congrats Lauren! But am I one of the only ones not able to still check my uscis case status online? It's still an error and it's been weeks. My file date was June12th and my baby coming any day now, I wish my fiancée could be here soon to help with baby.

Is any one still getting error message??? Or am I the oddball
