We have decided to set a date for our USA ceremony so that I can start planning and not be caught like a deer in headlights at the last minute. Our NOA1 date is 6/25. Do you guys and gals think that a wedding date of April 8, 2015 is too optimistic?

Has anyone started making wedding plans? We set a tentative date in April, 2015. Are we being too optimistic?

We want to get married as early as possible upon fiance getting here so we can file for EAD and AOS sooner, etc etc.

I am just worried that we have started the planning and then something will get delayed and you know, money down the drain.

Would be grateful to hear your thoughts.

Thank you all and fingers crossed for a week filled with approvals for EVERYONE!

My fiancé and I plan to get married at the city hall right away with a few close friends and family, and then have a big wedding when we are both settled in :-) I've already started planning the wedding though !

We are also planning a big wedding later that year but I really didn't want to do city hall. I work in the legal field and I spend 90% of my time in the court houses, so the last place I want to get married is a court house aka city hall wedding. No offense but I just really can't deal with that.

So I want a small ceremony with 15 ppl present, with the dress and an officiant and a lunch. My grandma won't be able to travel abroad for our big traditional wedding so that's why I'm planning more than a city hall elopement. But now I am worried about setting the date and booking an officiant, etc etc

SailaN8 just so you know, I inquired and you can only have up to 6 ppl with you on the day.

That makes sense. Well I think April is a safe time to set the date, but don't take my word for it! I've been quite optimistic about the process this whole time. Does anyone else agree?

Thanks for the info about how many people you can bring! That's useful to know. I've never been to city hall or a court house so I don't mind having the first ceremony there :-) but now that you mentioned your plans, it doesn't sound like a bad idea!

Good luck in anycase !

We're hoping to marry on April 17, the day we met. We'll just do a legal ceremony but we'll have the wedding on a cruise a year later on our anniversary since we can't afford to have the wedding of our dreams. Perhaps we will do that when we are older with a house and kids and can afford a nice bow renewal!

Hey we are July filers but I saw this, and we went ahead and set a date, June 19th, venue booked and everything... we have the option though that if we have to move the date due to our situation we can pay an extra $500 and move it. I would check with venue and all the people involved to see if that is an option. hope this helps.. best of luck!

Have any of you checked this out? Looks like there are sooo many people waiting these days at TSC.

http://dashboard.uscis.gov/index.cfm?formtype=6&office=5&charttype=1

Yes, there are too many people waiting still. The numbers dropped a little after all the transfers but obviously not enough to make them comfortable with posting current stats :). I try not to look at that any more to be honest.
