They will accept the 2014 guidelines until the spring when the 2015 guidelines will take I to effect. What the guidelines are , I still haven't found them. But if you take the 2014 guidelines and you qualify, you should be good. I'll try to get more info for you

Although it's really not what you are looking for, these figures may help you out.

Let me know

Miter, you should be beyond normal processing times. You should give them a call Can't hurt. And let them know, too

Called today. Spoke to Tier 1 person. She told me that I am still in normal processing time because TSC is processing June 6 petitions according to the Processing Time Report. When I brought up the fact that that document mentions that these dates are as of Nov. 30 and that TSC is now processing July petitions, she just ignored that and referred back to the Jan 20 date that the report came out and that it says they are processing June 6 petitions. Basically, Tier 1 is a waste of time, as I expected it would be. No surprise. I asked to speak to a Tier 2 person and she pushed back. I asked to speak to a supervisor and left my information for a call back. Not holding my breathe for a call back or any other help from them. She was nice enough and the call was friendly, but this was probably just an exercise in futility.

She can push back all she wants, but at the end of the day she has to transfer you. I believe the key words are "I demand a transfer" or something like that. I asked rather politely once to be transferred and the Tier 1 replied, "I can only transfer you if you demand it. Is this a demand for transfer?" I guess they have to code it that way in the computer or something.

And if you left your information meaning you recorded your name and put in your number and all of that, then you will get a call back. Be sure to ask specific questions, like whether all background checks have been completed, if your case has been assigned to an officer for adjudication, etc.

Keep calling. You gotta reach a different person eventually. And insist on Tier 2. I am sorry you keep waiting. Looks like a bleak look in the future.

Keeping my fingers crossed with you!

Did you get the operator number? You know they are not supposed to lobby against you speaking to someone who may be able to assist you. And not to take their side, cause I have had my run ins many times with them, imagine how many phone calls they get daily. But just keep pushing. I would even call back and try to get someone else who could get you to a tier 2 person to give you further information with regards to adjudicating your petition. Try that, and let me know what happens.

Wait until the website listed normal processing time has passed. Before that you are only getting yourself pissed off. After that you hold the high ground and go on an all out offensive then.

Thanks. My primary concern is that I was unemployed for 6 months while I transitioned from living in Europe to living in the US. In 2013 I had regular income above the minimum and I do now since October 2014. My fiancé already stopped working in preparation to come here, so right now I am the sole provider and we don't have very much savings. My parents would act as co-sponsors but I'm trying to figure out if I don't have to ask.

Let me know what you think and thanks again for your help.

Ok. Semi complicated but not. If you want, in the interest of your privacy, inbox me some general info and I could help you figure it out. What you may want to do is maybe get a letter from your former employer in which you were laid off , this way if they do question your financial, you can have some ammunition to retort.

Again, only if you want, I would need to know what your pay rate is, how many hours you work, your frequency and I think that's it. Just for 2015. We can keep it simple. I'll be more than happy to calculate where you are at with regards to the poverty guidelines.

Hopefully you should receive something shortly. Keep your head up. Things will happen. I know it's frustrating but this too shall pass. The great thing is that you know that you will get your answer because they are working on it. Just keep checking up on uscis website.

I feel that calling my congresswoman and getting them involved really helped. I got approved shortly after. Try that route. I kept emailing my congresswoman's assistant to update him of the situation and they contacted USCIS on my behalf. Cant hurt.
