I'm just curious who is left in June? Seems like this thread has died as most have moved on to bigger and better. I see my rfe packet arrived in Mesquite today. wooot, woot!! Hopefully, they can get it done in a month or less.

I'm still here. SEVEN months today and still nothing. I get REAL irritated when I think about it too much so I have been trying to focus on other things. This gets depressing. :(

I went 7 and a half months brother before getting my rfe. They change the timeline around the 15th of each month. Get ready to go on the offensive as soon as it goes over normal processing times. Find out who handles this stuff at your congressman's office. Get an appointment for around the 20th of the month at your local office. Be prepared to put in an overdue petition with uscis as soon as you are over normal processing time. Chances are you are an rfe like mine and they didn't want to work the file because there was work to be done with it.

We're June filers here (NOA1 June 16, 2014) and still waiting. Last update on the USCIS website was October 8th, 2014 and it still reads the same today, "On October 8, 2014 your case was transferred to a local USCIS office".

Once the USCIS website updates next month I'll be able to start questioning the status with the local USCIS office....

Hey guys. Brett. You just said your RFE was received today, right??? You should get your noa2 within a week.

Everyone, keep your heads Good things are going to happen.

Here's a sneak peak into all your petitions post NOa2.

Your packet will be sent to the NVC. Then after 2 weeks you are going to call this number. Once you get thru and trust me it's pretty hard, you will ask for your new case number and invoice ID. Once you get that your fiancé can go to the department of state and fill out the ds 160.

start getting all the documents ready for your interview cause your case is now going the the US embassy in the country of your fiancée.

Then go to USTraveldocs.com. You will fill out a profile. You have to choose immigrant visa. You will see K1 or K2. Choose the one that corresponds to you.

Next you will get to the portion that you have to pay the 265.00. Each country may be different. In my case my fiancée is in the Dominican Republic. I have to send her the money and she has to go make the payment at a banco popular. You will need some kind of print out from the site. Your new case number now becomes handy.

Once the payment is made, the following day you can go back onto the site and guess what? You get to pick your interview date!!! Print that out and tell your fiancée to go to the medical.

About a week before the interview or however long it will take, get an updated police report and other docs.

Interview will happen and visa will be issued in a matter of a few days.

Buy that plane ticket cause your boo is coming for you!!!!!

It will happen. Just breathe

Normal processing time is still June 6th and beyond but they change it around the 15th of the month. Keep an eye on that every day. As soon as you go beyond you have some leverage.

Are you saying after paying $350 for this K-1 visa you need to get another DS-160 and pay another $180..... seriously?!?!!?

Sometimes love costs money. It's the consular fee that you have to pay. It's a non negotiable. The business of America is business. You know they are worse than valentines day. The gov basically seized an opportunity many moons ago to profit off the emotions of others. Think about it. How much do we have to break our backs to earn 340.00? It's bull. But all in all I think it's worth it. In admin fees (medical and consular interview) you are looking at the most 565.00. Not sure if you are planning on being there for the interview, but if so, I'm not even going to tell you. Just want to be upfront. But start saving those greenbacks. As soon as the 265.00 for the consulate are paid, it's good for a year. So as much as you want your guys/ ladies here, remember there is the coat of doing business as far as Uncle Sam is concerned.

Does anyone know what the minimum wage requirement is not to need a co-sponsor?

It doesn't go by your hourly wage, but rather your annual gross income. For 2014 it was $19,662, but that's going to go up slightly for 2015.

If your pay stubs are strong enough, you can get your income qualified. Basically you take your income gross and multiply it by your pay period. Say biweekly, you multiply it by 26 and divide by 12. If your income is above the requirements you are good. If not start rocking out that overtime or look for a second job.

Good luck

So basically you need to gross about 1666.00 a month to qualify. And for APS you will need about 2082 per month before taxes
