JUNE 2014 filers - TEXAS SERVICE CENTER

Hey guys... First of all happy thanksgiving. I wanted to share on this post that I am a June 9, 2014 filer. In other words , the Uscis receives my petition then. A friend of mine who went through the process suggested that because I was on my 5 the month to call last Friday. I did and was told that since the processing times were up to April 5, 2014 that I would have to wait till they were up to my filing date. To my surprise, I received an email stating an update to my petition was made. My heart jumped with emotion. Turns out it was an RFE but on the brighter side they are now working on my petition. I am waiting for the package to arrive and find out what the RFE is for exactly since they can't give you any info over the phone. So I just want to share that if you are in your 5th month with no updates, try giving them a call. I'm guessing after I inquired that they pulled my file for review.

Hey , btw , does anyone know how long it takes to get the RFE package to me? And once I get what they request how long will it be till I get a decision?

Good luck everyone and let's keep each other posted...

ISL

Hi and Happy Thanksgiving! -- an RFE isn't a bad thing, so that means that they have opened your case. To answer your RFE questions, I can only answer based on my experience - so here it goes:

Our NOA1 date is 6/5, we got our RFE notice on 11/12 (Wednesday) and I got the hard copy in the mail on 11/17 (Monday) - for the record, I'm in NY too. We overnighted it back on Tuesday (11/18) and our status was changed that they received it on 11/20. As for when they'll process it, there's no solid way to tell. We're obv stll waiting (and every person around our SRC receipt number with an i-129f has been approved or RFE'ed over the past few days). HOWEVER, the received RFE notice said we should have a decision or case update from USCIS by January 19th, 2015. Which is SO frustrating but I'm seriously praying, hoping and praying some more that it'll be sooner than January.

Good luck and keep us posted on the RFE! :)

For sure. I'm just thrilled that they finally did something. I mean it sucks that it wasn't an approval , but at this juncture, I'll take the RFE if that means things are moving along. I wasn't expecting anything until the TSC posted June filers. The thing that sucks , in my opinion is that I am also an honorably discharged Marine and I was able to give them 8 years of my life but couldn't even answer a simple question for me. You would figure that, in my case , the information regarding an RFE would be in the data base . After all, we all paid the 340.00 to initiate our petitions. But I will definitely keep everyone posted. It's kind of sad that anxiety runs high and the customer service people give you generic information but it is people like us who can give actual and factual information relative to our cause. Thank you so much for the info and hopefully in a week or so I will have the RFE package back and satisfy their request. And don't worry. Your dreams will soon be reality!!!

Gobble gobble!!!

Sweet!!!! There is light at the end of the tunnel and it's not an oncoming train!!! Did you and your fiancée submit a letter of intent to marry? That's what I'm reading with a lot of RFE's. Let me know when you get the interview date and all. I'm stoked for you and your fiancée. Good times are upon you. I hope your fiancée is able to come at the very latest before New Years so you can share that moment. The first of many in this lifetime!!!

Thanks for your congrats.

Yes, we both included two letters of intent to marry. One from the petitioner and one from the beneficiary.

I don't think I'll be there for New Years as it take another month for NVC to get it, process it and send it to my consulate in Auckland, New Zealand. Then my consulate has an average of 40 days. So we are talking early or mid feb. :-(

Or have I misinterpreted the visajourney stats?

Just sharing my letter with you guys, feel free to tweak it. It is by no means perfect.

I finally had a chance to read your doc. Very good. I'm working on something and will requesting your opinion about it soon.

By the looks of things, it's a gamble but let's just take it one day at a time. I feel like an idiot not sending hers over but it's a learning experience. We have waited this long, a little longer won't hurt But definitely keep me posted.

Mar 2013 Infopass - advised file was in a box somewhere, and it would be quicker for us to refile. Life gets in the way... New petition submitted July 2014 .

I think the next step would be the physical. I was told international mail is super slow and the documents that you receive will be the same she receives. I was advised to scan and email the packet to my fiancée to get a jump on things. During this time they will schedule the appointment. But yeah, best of luck. Just let us know what happens next. You are our sneak peak into the rest of our own lives!!!

To the Andies: Usually takes 2 to 4 weeks to get an answer on an rfe, from looking at igor's list... BTW, not everyone around you has a noa2. I'm june 5th too and have NOTHING!! I'm getting the feeling if you are a Thailand petitioner like me you are going to do some serious waiting... No Thai noa2 has been issued after me. It's as if, we are persona non gratis. Happy Thanksgiving, and may you all be able to enjoy it next year with your loves.

Here's hoping 2-4 weeks but with the holidays, who knows.

Ah damn, I thought for sure you would be one of the numbers around ours. It's insane that there's a delay with Thailand beneficiaries, unbelievable. I hope your file is on an officer's desk waiting to be looked at tomorrow. Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving - and in a year, we'll all be with our loves. <3

Thanks brother.... Nope I'm still sitting here in Houston. It's becoming a little evident to me they have a thing for Thai petitioners are persona non gratis. There are 10 in front of me and none of us has seen a thing. That's a bit strange. Not even an expedite. I think the coup has made someone or some people nervous or something. I'll wait it out like the rest of the crew here, and it's good to see others move on and move forward. Ole Brett will bring up the rear...lol.

Hello fellow Kiwi,

Last time I checked the stats on vj for our consulate it was 40 or so days from the consulate recieving the package from NVC to interview. However, due to the small amount of applications through our consulate, their maybe a few outliers that push the average up.

Where are you checking the stats for the consulate? On vj or somewhere else.
