Sent my I-129F to Wrong Address

In my excitement to finally submit my I-129F I chose EXPRESS mail thinking "as fast as possible" and forgot that my package was addressed to the Lockbox in Dallas and not the address in Lewisville that is the address for any express packages. I was able to track it ans it was received at 11:45am last Tuesday but I because I never received a notification that they received it based on the G-1145 Notification of Acceptance of Application/Petition form I attached with my email and phone number.

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone had this experience and if they forwarded it to the correct address or if they returned it and how long it took? When I called USCIS they told me they would do one or the other but said there is no rhyme or reason and I just needed to wait.....I guess this is the beginning of my new hobby but to start off like this is really frustrating.

I am hoping that I got someone in a great mood who believes in love and sent it to where it needs to be!

All petitions that are sent to the lockbox arrive at the same location, no matter which filing address you use. The address listed in the express filing location is the actual physical location of the lockbox. The other address is simply a PO box. If your mail went to the PO box, it will still end up at the physical location.

Watch your bank for them cashing the check. It takes time for them to receive it, Process it and move it on. It should be staying in texas so there should be no real problems.

I sent a money order with my packet so I won't know until they contact me or return it - at least my understanding is that it is like cash. Is there a chance I could end up in the California processing center or am I stuck in Texas? Is there any way to know at which processing center your packet will end up at?

Sorry to say, but you'll be at Texas service center cause you live in New York, And New york belongs to TSC Sorry

They ended up routing it to the correct address and all is good. I was wondering about transfers...Do people request that their packets get transfered to a different location or is that something the USCIS does on their own. Why would you get transfered? I was just looking at the processing times from NOA1 to NOA2 and they have been much faster in Vermont and California compared to Texas and I know my packet could fall off someones desk and be on the bottom or top tomorrow regardless but I noticed that some people's packets were transfered from Texas to CA or VT. Does anyone know anything about this?

You do not request where your petition is sent. From the lockbox intake facility, your petition will be sent to either the TSC or the CSC for processing. Those are the two that are currently processing I-129F petitions. There have been a few cases reported here on VJ as being sent to the VSC as of late, and so there is some speculation as to whether or not the VSC will once again process the I-129F petitions because of the backlog at the TSC. Nothing has been announced on the USCIS site yet though.

I-129F petitions currently are processed by the California Service Center (CSC) and the Texas Service Center (TSC).

Vermont Service Center (VSC) no longer process I-129F petitions since July 2013. Starting the week of July 29th 2013, the USCIS began redirecting all newly filed Fiancée Visa Petitions from the Vermont Service Center (VSC) to the Texas Service Center (TSC). (This is why TSC is so slow these days because they had that extra load back then)

California Service Center processes I-129f petitions for petitioners residing in: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Guam, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming.

Texas Service Center processes I-129f petitions for petitioners residing in: Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, U.S. Virgin Islands, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.
