Hi everyone, on June 27th our I-29F will have been under initial review for 5 months. Im concerned by this because I see others getting their NOA-2's much faster then this. I'm also concerned because I was denied entry at the border after staying for 5 months with a passport, would this affect our application?

Someone just posted that they got a TSC NOA2 yesterday evening after over 7 months processing time without an RFE.

Your being denied entry won't affect your application. You just need to be patient and wait a bit longer, sometimes they take a while.

Five months are the normal processing time for an I-129F petition per USCIS. It may take longer or shorter. You can put in a service request once your NOA1 date is beyond the date they are currently working on and the five months plus 30 days have passed. Your denied entry won't affect the K1 visa.

Just a couple of things.. California SC is moving super fast for many which is not a lot of fun for those going through Texas .. Texas is always much slower.. 5mths seems to be pretty much average at present. Checking the Case Status is addictive but its often not updated and can remain in "Initial Review" for the entire process and long after you've even been approved in some cases. You may be pretty close to hearing some time soon.

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file
Infopass Apt - they sorted through everything - our 2011 and 2012 file keep getting mixed up - getting us a Case# (still waiting) Dec- Infopass Appt- expecting to get a case # in about a week ..Still no Case number

Mar 2013 Infopass - advised file was in a box somewhere, and it would be quicker for us to refile. Life gets in the way... New petition submitted July 2014 .

We were just approved TWO days ago after almost 9months of waiting!!! I was also concerned because I overstayed once and then traveled back and forth to the US for 4-5months at a time for several years--never overstaying--but still they denied me entry last July because of it. We ordered THREE service requests and got our congressman involved and still we only just got approved. All you can do is hang in there and be patient which is so hard I know.

I appreciate your helpful responses guys! It's really nice to know I'm not alone, and that my denied entry won't affect our application. I haven't seen my fiancé in 6 months so I'm getting antsy.

I am 5 months and almost 2 weeks in 3 days. There are still Nov. and us Dec. filers still waiting:( When you call USCIS they will tell you that they are working on Dec. 3rd filers? Why are there still Nov. filers waiting and 2 recent petitions from September and October filers being approved? This sucksss!!!

we were 218 days for NOA2 (filed September 23 and NOA2 on May 1). If it helps at all, the process since our NOA2 has been flying. I'd heard lots of bad stories about NVC and Montreal, and here I am with an interview already booked.

Hang tough...the first delays should be the worst of it, and suddenly, you'll be there.

We received our NOA1 on Dec2. Still no NOA2. It has been over 6.5months since we sent our application. Put in a service request... Could take an additional 2 months to get back to me with the status of my case. Hang in there.
