Nothing else current. Care to link for me?

I think that's it. Hopefully lucky didn't ask for it to be deleted during one of his "I'm leaving fits".

Hopefully lucky didn't ask for it to be deleted during one of his "I'm leaving fits".

Maybe ask him if he'll request that it be reopened.

Sadly, the OP of the Gardening thread requested that it be taken down, almost a month ago. That was an enjoyable thread, too.

WHY would someone take down a good thread about gardening? That is sad. Mayhap I will start my own...

We may have to give some away from our one plant if we don't can some. The wife only eats tomatoes in liquid form. I've got some carrots and onions going too, with the hope she can make a complete home grown bolognese sauce.

Weird thing with my tomato plants. I have to start them in the cage and wrap the cage with window screen so they don't get eaten. I'm not sure what eats tomato plants as I always heard rabbits do not. I may have heard somewhere that squirrels will eat tomato plants though......

Are you in the K-nowledge about cutting off the bottom branches (about 6" worth) and all the suckers?

ya - it's sorta a big dealio - gives more 'life' to the upper parts of the plant, where the fruit grows.

got ahold of some old fashioned varietals this weekend, got out about 1000 seeds and I potted them in small pots for resale (in about 3 weeks)

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

What luckytxn said. I let my suckers grow for a minute, so I could get big enough clippings to re-start them in water for a fall crop of 'maters. But for sure, clip ALL branches that may touch the ground. Saw a Youtube video about a guy who cut ALL suckers; he had plants that were over 6' tall and FULL of tomatoes.

Tomato plants will try to produce the leaf during this period of growth and stopping this ability will divert it energy to producing sugar for the tomatos and thus also make them larger and juicier. We used to grow large amounts of tomatoes when I grew up and sell them on the roadside at stands.

No need. A new one has been opened.

Open yours back up lucky. Or have the mods merge it with mine if you want. Or I can delete mine if you want, since it is so new and has no replies.

No yours is fine. It was like pulling teeth to get others to post and I won't be around much. Thanks for asking me too do so.
