It would be a whole lot easier if some people didn't decide it was a great game to try and push that envelope and see how far across that 'line' they could reach their toe before they got called on it, though.

It's called INDIVIDUAL punishment for a reason. Being a military type, I for one hate mass punishment, or mass restrictions. Kick the one who transgresses (or attempts to walk the thin line) in the Jimmy and allow the rest to talk the grown-up talk, I say. I haven't seen too many kids on this site, ever. It may be about helping families come together, but said families understand the anatomical functions of the human body, else they would not be struggling to be together.

As I suggested before, restrict this forum by forcing people to have to apply to join, and have a disclaimer they must read that is separate from the TOS for the rest of the site, then let all hell break loose. We will self-mod, calling on you when a person gets out of control and needs a ban. Set a limit, say 5 reports on the same offense, and they get a timeout, perhaps. Not really a hard thing to do, and it would really ease the burden on the current mods, IMHO. Having been a mod before, I know it's tough and time-consuming, especially in a thread like this one.

Yeah, I think we can certainly take a look at names of legitimate body parts, and there are some unfortunate souls who have names that lend themselves well to double entendres . Going after those double meanings, while clever, can also trip over into the non-family friendly territory and that is when we need to be careful. It may be that we have erred on the side of caution sometimes - and we will look into that - but we still have to consider the potential risks that might have unexpected repercussions on VJ. I understand the concern with testing the limits, but, that's going to happen no matter what. What I don't get is, this site is for people who are married or are planning on getting married. I know it becomes a rarity after marriage, but some people do have sex and discuss it and related issues in a very normal, non pornographic way. I don't see how the topic of sex isn't family friendly. It's taught to 10 year old kids. We see and hear far worse on the new and TV and in various other forms of media. Some people have sexual issues that they like to discuss. Others talk about preferences and things they like to do. Of course there are plenty of jokes thrown it, but this is the real world. Sex and sexual topics and innuendos are a part of everyday life. This isn't a convent. I honestly think that the censorship and the family friendliness is getting totally carried away. People have physical relationships, what's so offensive about that?

You may be right about that. I guess family friendly can't hurt a sale for a site like this. But this is a site for consenting adults, not nursery school. And kids know the proper names for sex organs by the time they go to kindergarden or preschool as they well should. This isn't the generation from the early 1900's when sex was swept under the rug. Anyone offended by non pornographic sexual matter shouldn't be on this site. We not only have male/female sex talk, but also same sex talk. Why should it be hidden? Admin isn't going to sweep same sex immigration under the rug, so why ban sex talk?
