I am glad someone understands. INMHO if one becomes a mod, they can't act the fool here anymore. If I can't act the fool, I don't want to be here . That's for real. I have had enough power in my life that being a Mod would hold no special thrill for me. I have no desire to be a mod what so ever, unless it is going to pay 75K+ a year. So please everyone. I have made it clear. I would suck at being a mod, I don't have the personality for it, I am sure the band of 7 would agree.

The reason I have been trying to color inside the lines, is because I feel like they are making a good faith attempt to stop the petty BS that was going on, they have put forth some effort and time. Kathryn made a very very good post explaining in great detail, why they have to be aware of stuff, that none of us think is a big deal, but others that do not know us, could see it pop up and form a very negative opinion of VJ.

I feel like they extended a very genuine olive branch. The fact that they, let that 100 page thread ramble on is proof. Are they perfect no. maybe it's just the way I was raised, but when someone really listens to you and tires to make things better, then I think it's only common decency to so the same in return. I truly feel that almost all of the old timers, although we play fight, and get under each others skin, truly like each other. I think the smartest thing to do is act like adults, police ourselves and don't give them a reason to come in here.

Excellent post. I think they are making a good attempt at letting us sort things our ourselves and do some self policing. Personally I liked your Angry Comment idea, as long as it doesn't get abused, I think it was an effective way of making a point without being offensive or resorting to name calling etc. I also liked Krikit's handling of a situation earlier today.

The only thing I may have issue with is the acting like adults part. I make life threatening decisions every day and I don't need that kind of pressure when I come here, :devil::devil:

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).
