Evidence for AOS interview

Hi everyone, I would like to know what evidence and/or documents my wife should bring to the AOS interview. Should the bills, lease, etc be in both our names or separately? Thanks, if you can give me a list, that would be great. I appreciate it.

They are looking for evidence of a true marriage. So, they would like to see joint checking accounts, life insurance with new spouse as beneficiary, tax returns filed jointly, charge accounts in both names, etc. If this is too soon for such things, then have visual evidence that you have introduced your new spouse to family members with photographs, plane tickets to visit family, etc.

In our case, my wife didn't even have a social security number so it was difficult to set many things up. I had managed to change one insurance policy to show her as the primary beneficiary but not much else. What did it for us was the trip across the country to introduce her to my oldest daughter and for us to meet our new granddaughter.

Mostly what the interviewing officer is looking for is signs of a true marriage. You can also discuss with them plans you have for the future which include family matters. Generally, this has proven to be the most enjoyable part of this entire journey. Usually the officers are quite nice and respectful. Treat them the same way.

Just show them of your love for each other and plans for the future as husband and wife. If children are in the future, mention this also.

Would being sponsered by the military as a spouse be evidence? and both names on the lease?
