Medical before interview

Hey guys - I have a question regarding the medical exam prior to interview. I read on the NVC site a list of the immunizations that needs to be completed. Some of these (tetanus - must have 4 weeks prior to medical exam, chickenpox 2 shots 4 weeks prior to medical) immunization requires my wife to get shots a month prior to her medical exam and I'm pretty sure has never gotten any kind of immunization before. Is this requirement valid, or did everyone have their significant other just get their immunization at the medical without any issue?

Thanks!

My wife got a K1, so this info isn't from personal experience...

According to the consulate website instructions, your wife is supposed to see the panel physician and have the medical exam BEFORE getting the vaccinations. She won't get the vaccinations at the medical exam. She'll need to go to the Quarantine Service for those. The instructions indicate she should bring any vaccination records with her, but you say she's never had any vaccinations before so she wouldn't have vaccination records.

In this case, I would defer to the consulate instructions, even though they differ slightly from the NVC instructions. At this point, you're dealing with the consulate and not the NVC.

I am not so sure how K-1 and CR-1 are different at this stage. I would assume it is different from one anothers.

My wife came to US under K-1 and she had to do medical exam before getting vaccinations. Medical exam can be done either at Cho Ray Hospital or IMO and vaccination can be done at Quarantine Service in Nguyen Van Troi street.

My wife got most of vaccinations before but she lost her record. We told them that she lost it and they require to do blood test for Hepatitis B. However, they wanted her to get Tdap, MMR and Flu shot.

Hello. I am the beneficiary in a K1 Visa. When I went to my medical exam, the physician was the one who told me what vaccines I will be given / need. My medical exam took 3 days in total - 1st day were all about x-ray, eye exam, pregnancy test and physical exam, etc. Second day, I had to go back for my vaccine - I had MMR vaccine. Tdap vaccine was not available on that day so I had to come back a month after to get my Tdap vaccine because I don't want to be paying that immunization in the US when I have to adjust my status.

I mistyped " it is not different from one anothers" instead " it is different".

After my wife finished her medical exam, they told her to go getting vaccinations at Quarantine. Also, they told her to bring vaccination records ( yellow paper ) back when she done to the medical exam place. So the doctor can seal the envelope that contain medical exam results and vaccinations record.

If she sees the physical panel in the morning and gets vaccines after finishing her medical, then she can get the envelope in the same day.
