Which one is my A Number? Never received NOA2

Hi All,

I'm a K1 holder and just got married about a month ago. Right now I'm trying to file for my AoS and I can't find my A number.

I'm in a bit of a situation here where my husband (then fiance) have never received my NOA2.

Shouldn't the A number be written somewhere in the K1 visa itself? If yes, which one? I have 2 possible numbers:

1) One below the line under Annotation box that says "Medical Report enclosed in packet A <9-digit number>

2) One written in RED stamped somewhat on right low corner of the visa (besides the annotation). But this number starts with an "H". H <7-digit number>

Or should I wait til we go for my infopass appointment and ask them since we've never received NOA2?

Thanks all!

K1 Visa:

11-07-2012: I-129F sent

05-31-2013: Packet 3 received

10-23-2013: Packet 3 sent

11-19-2013: Interview

04-07-2014: POE Boston

05-07-2014: Got married after 12 years of LDR! :dancing:

AOS:

10-10-2014: Filed (together with combo EAD/AP)

10-27-2014: NOA received

12-10-2014: Request for Initial Evidence (RFI) received

11-12-2014: Biometrics Appt

02-03-2015: RFI received by USCIS

02-25-2015: Notice of Potential Interview Waiver Case letter received

(completely forgot): GC received. Resident since 07/04/2015.

So that's not my Alien Registration Number? So the only reference for my A number is via my NOA2?

Wait, just to clear, A number = Alien Registration Number ya?

Yes, A refers to your alien registration number. I checked my NOA-2, my A# is 9 digits.

My A number on the visa is under "Petition Approved on xx/xx/2013"

But you do know that you actually need a copy of noa2 for aos, right? and if you will have an interview, you'll need to present the original of noa2 to the IO.

Those 2 are the only numbers that I don't understand, thats why I'm assuming one of them is my Alien Registration number.

But I guess neither one is!

Yeah I know we need to have NOA2 hence the reason why I've made an info pass appointment cause we've never received the document! Looks like I'm going to ask them of my alien number while I'm there

My K-1 visa looks different from yours. I don't have the name of my petitioner or any information on annotation. It just left blank. But it seems like A number on your passport refers to your alien number.

then yeah, that is your A number, the one under "medical report enclosed in the packet". Instead of that medical report, mine says Petition approved on xx/xx/2013. But i am sure that is your A number.

Good luck getting the noa2, hope it won't be a lot of hassle.

Visas from different countries can look different. Some print information on them that other countries do not. Not all K-1 visas have much extra info printed on them for the annotation. Some do not have the A# printed on them. They all have the non-immigrant # that is the red number at the lower right. You need that number for AOS as well.

It seems like that is your A# that is printed on your visa, but since you are going to an InfoPass appointment about the lack of your NOA2, go ahead and ask them what your A# is, just for absolute verification.
