got Mon, Aug 4 - I guess we should be happy considering in a couple of seconds Aug 25th is already filled ! lol but still feel bad we missed July 25.. coulda had it if I was more persistent - we were supposed to attend an event together on Aug 6, oh well guess that's out the window.. considering putting in an emergency request - anyone ever have luck with that ? Thanks

I wouldn't even bother with an emergency request. You are fortunate to get the date you got, because you know how hard it is to be able to get a date. What you can do is wait for July cancellations and try to snag an earlier date. However, you will have to cancel your original appointment and hurry and reschedule before someone else does. You will risk losing your original appointment.

thanks zedayn.. You are right .. definitely fortunate! probably don't want to risk it but do the July cancellations still show up on the "dashboard" after you already have an appointment ? - I still have my C4C running but nothing came up yet. Is there anything to lose requesting the emergency? - we really are supposed to attend a business event on August 6, I even have the reservation already. Thanks

Yup appointment dates do show up on the dashboard even after you have an appointment. Personally I would not risk losing your current appointment - being they are so difficult to get right now.

Last I read all of August has be released and is GONE

I agree with everyone above... there is to much to lose just to reschedule... since you have to cancel your appointment first in order to choose a new one, and it takes at least 5-10 seconds to do so, that available July appointment you saw might not be there anymore after you have cancelled your August slot, and by the time you find out and try to reclaim it, you lost that one too! Then you're left with no appointments and waiting for the September slots to open up next month.

I learned from the posts here on VJ not to schedule anything definite until the actual visa is in your fiancee's hand. Even after the interview is done, there is no guarantee that the visa will be delivered in time for the assigned date... there are a lot of things that are out of our control on this one, so it's best to be safe :)

I almost scheduled a honeymoon trip for July 26th after we paid the visa fee in May, thinking it was more than enough time to get an interview slot... good thing I didn't, as I had to wait almost 5 weeks to get a slot >.<

Good luck!

Only started using Auto Refresh Plus less than 3 weeks ago... and even when I did, for some reason the slots open up when I'm either on field work, asleep, or someone clicked faster than I did :)

Based on experience, I work at night here in Cebu so I opted to be online from 10pm onwards while doing my job. As what other members say, just stay on the dashboard and only hit continue when an earliest appointment date available shows at the bottom left of the page...

i have tried the c4c but the call center says that the date on the left dashboard is not for K-1 Visa only for immigrant visa to return to the US

K1 visa falls under Immigrant visa for appointment dates. The date on the lower left side you can see or you will see in the future are the open dates available for interview..just click continue upper left ,if you happen to see one.

Goodluck!

Yes it is for the K-1 visa as they are processed by the Immigrant Visa Unit. Seems the call center doesn't have a clue... odd.

Anyway, why are your bothering to call the embassy, you will not have better results calling, they see the same calendar as you do. Need to stay diligent and watching your dashboard, then follow the instructions others have been giving you for grabbing a date.

My fiancé and myself have been trying to get an interview for a month now!!!! this is absolutely crazy. I call everyday no luck there. OOHH yes we do the C4C and the refresh plus with Google chrome but no luck!! Does anyone think hiring a attorney would help expedite at all? I don't know what to do I am not real good at sitting back and being patient.

P.S.

Both Joy and Myself between the two of us are online 24/7 trying to get a slot!!! Absolutely heart breaking.

Plus I wonder if our window of time or expiration date will pass from uscis??

Calling the Embassy will not increase your ability to get an interview as they are looking at the same schedule you are.

Hiring an attorney will be a waste of money as he/she will not be able to do any more than what you can do.

Stick with C4C, it's your best chance. It's like fishing.... you just have to wait till the pull on the finishing line happens to know if you have caught a fish.

Your time will be extended up to a year automatically. No concern there.

While waiting, read some of the threads here on VJ and many of these and other questions have been answered.

Good luck and don't give up. 1942.gif

Calling the embassy? That is a waste of time. Hiring an attorney? That is a waste of money, what is the attorney going to do sit at his computer with C4C running?

Your petition validity will be extended up to a year, so relax you have plenty of time.

Stay persistent with watching the dashboard... then have fast reflexes to grab the appointment 1st.
