You may be waiting a long time!

I know there are lots of people over or approaching the 5 month wait time, at least on k1 visas. This post has you in mind but really it is for everyone on this site.

MAKE SURE TO BE CHECKING YOUR REGULAR USPS MAIL!!!!

My approved petition is at the Embassy now but along the way, I never received any email/text updates after the point of my ARN being changed at the beginning of the process.

*THE USCIS WEBSITE DID NOT UPDATE MY STATUS PAST THE ARN BEING CHANGED EITHER*

My communication and updates were received via USPS and when I called for an update. Please note that when I called USCIS, the frontline reps only saw what I saw online.

I was told that this happens occassionally as the text/email/website system is relatively new.

So, please, make sure you are checking your mailboxes!

On another note, to everyone that is doing their best to keep their head above water during the awful and long wait...... STAY POSITIVE! It will all be over soon. I promise!

There are countless threads that have helped me during my journey thus far, but this one really gave me some insight into the process. It especially helped me since I was at TSC, where there is a huge backlog and much longer wait times. It restored my faith in the people that work the petitions... this gives the process a human touch. Maybe it will give you some encouragement too.

Thanks for this. That Q&A was the most informative look into the process that I've seen.

I initially received a text and email for my NOA 1. Now I'm wondering if a letter will just show up one of these days. This wait is excruciating. It's so hard to see others move along so quickly.

You guys are welcome. I know it is so hard. I still remember all the feelings I felt: happiness for others, but mostly uglier feelings like jealousy, envy, sadness and anger. Unfortunately things aren't done a "totally fair" way and I don't know why. Just try to focus on the positives and blessings in your life. This amount of time is going to pass no matter what we do with it.... so we may as well TRY to make it positive. Easier said than done, right?

Just keep moving forwards, my friend. And definitely check your mail :)

I called USCIS and spoke with a rep to get a better understanting appropriate time intervals to follow up for case status. I was told to follow up at 45 day intervals. I also inquired if the online status is real time. The rep indicated the online status is updated every 45 days. The rep advised NOA2 or RFE could be sent today but online status may not be updated until the desiganted 45th day interval. Long story short...follow up with USCIS every few weeks and check your mail.

Hahaha This is a fascinating and very helpful information! Thank you!

I've been checking the Case Status page like non-stop. Well, I feel much better now, strangely. Less time shall be wasted! Now, on to something productive!

Same here. Can I ask, do you have a choice of which servicing center you file with? We used an immigration lawyer and I'm wondering, if there were options, why he would choose the center with the backlog of cases and complaints. I'm worried I may already know the answer.

You do not have a choice. It's routed based on location of the petitioner.

Boston is at TSC. Obviously where you are, based on how long you've been awaiting NOA2.

Thanks for the response. Yeah, were TSC...must have sinned terribly in a past life

Maybe, but the selected service center (TSC in your case) is merely a result of the fact that the US petitioner lives in Mass - K1 petitions from there are handled by TSC. :)
