  1. 1. Is rape wrong?

    • Yes, usually. Except when the man doing the raping is the strongest and most intelligent man on earth. Then he's doing our species a favor.

    • Yes, always. The strongest and most intelligent man on earth probably has no problem getting consensual sex.

Of course I am thinking like a human. I make no claims of being superior.

Which means you could be completely wrong in the statement you made about the upside of the suffering and strife of children and the innocent.

No, just like having a ####### isn't a sign of consent either. Erections are physiological reactions. You can get one against your will.

Exactly my point.

You're supposed to get them every night. Waking up with one every night is a sign of good health, I am told.

Good to know. I'm still going strong.

You have to ask yourself, though: What does the average woman who can't find a consensual partner for no strings sex look like?

Or maybe you're wrong.

We'll all find out one way or the other.

In that case we should apply scientific method an analyze the evidence. There is nothing to suggest your statement is correct, therefore I prefer to take the cautious route and call a spade a spade rather than to rely on unproven and unfounded mythological notions. I'd say we need to look and see the suffering of the innocent as evidence of the complete absence of any overseeing all-loving entity.

Do you think all male rapists are fat and ugly?

Maybe you think rape is about sex?

Do you think that women should like rape if the rapists aren't fat and ugly? Most men can probably imagine a situation where they wouldn't enjoy being raped (by women).

And yes, rape and alleged rape is often about sex. Obviously sex itself involves a lot of other things. Rape also can involve power and control, but when you force someone to have sex with you, I'd say that sex is involved.

The whole line about rape not involving sex is an obvious deflection. It's like saying that robbery isn't about money.. Yeah, there may be other things involved in robbery and occasionally there may be robberies where the money is not really the point, but the exception doesn't prove the rule.

Those who do their best to live as Jesus taught have nothing to lose. If this is it and there is no hereafter, people lived a righteous life and cared for their fellow man. If there is a judgement day and everlasting life, lots of people will wish they had believed and loved one another. Even if the Inflation Theory is true, where did that initial particle come from? You follow what you believe or don't believe. I respect your right to do so. I respect your right to own an AR-15.

You seem not to know much about rape. One thing that is agreed upon is that rape is about power and domination, not sexual lust. Perhaps you misunderstood what it means when psychologists say that rape is not about sex? What it means is, that it is not about sexual lust, feeling horny if you will and wanting to satisfy that urge. What it is about is power, domination, subjugation, humiliating the victim. None of which are integral aspects of the sexual act amongst the consenting population.

Not sure what you mean, but if you mean that those who do not believe in deities do not treat each other humanely, then you are totally confused. Those without 'god' do not lack compassion, they do no lack common decency, they do not lack the ability to empathise, behave charitably and generally treat their fellow human beings with decency and respect. What they do do is base their decisions on human interaction, not on rules imposed by some omniscient super being that no one has heard, seen or felt. Hence, humanitarians do not have to consider the homosexual a deviant who sins if he has sex with his same sex partners, so we do not discriminate against him based on his sexual predilections and we do not need to consult a holy teacher to make sure by so doing we aren't sinning. Sin is a nonsense. Common sense.

I'm not confused at all. Plenty of people lack compassion, common decency and don't treat their fellow man well, whether they believe in God or not. I see common sense lacking in many places and in many people. Observation: It seems like everything you don't agree with is nonsense.

That's not the point I was making. You said that those who don't believe in god should watch out because they will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Personally, I don't give a toss about entering the kingdom of heaven so I don't need to 'watch out' and yet I do still live my life as a good humanitarian, I just don't judge people based on deist precepts. So what now?
