The Brazilians got lucky on this one. The penalty was not deserved and that goal that Croatia landed was good - there was no foul. Should have been a draw. But I guess they need to do some riot control around there so they gave away some free goals for the host nation today. Hope that's not a sign of things to come.

Awful, awful "home crowd" decision by the referee. Let's be honest here - 3-1 totally flattered Brazil. They were woeful for large swathes of that game - Croatia deserved at least a point.

And don't forget, Brazil has the highest number gun deaths in the world. Not per capital, total deaths. And yet they have a low suicide rate. And don't forget about the soccer incident there last year when they attacked the referee and decapitated him and put his head on a pike on the field. Because the referee stabbed and killed a player. So they probably aren't taking any chances.

Soccer is one sport where I think guns should be introduced into the game to make it the least bit interesting.

I am all for that - as long as those with the guns shoot those with the vuvuzuela's. I hate that #######. Made me swear off watching FIFA cups since the South African tourney.

Did you look at Group B? Forget Australia for a second but how is Chile going to march past either Spain or the Netherlands? It's possible, of course, depending on how the group matches play out but the odds are clearly not in Chile's favor to even make it into the round of 16. For Chile to achieve that, one of the favorites - either Spain or Netherlands - would have to go home after the group round. Again, it's possible but not very likely.
