Has anyone applied for a Lebanese police clearance certificate? If so, did you ever receive it and how long did it take to get it after your request? If you didn't receive the police clearance certificate, did the embassy performing the interview waive the requirement? Please let me know what experience you had with the getting the Lebanese police certificate.

For those residing outside Lebanon, the request must be processed through Lebanese embassies/consulates, but applicants may experience extremely long waiting periods before they receive the document, or may not receive them at all. The "Judiciary Police Record" may also be requested through a lawyer having a power of attorney from the individual authorizing the request. The "Judiciary Police Record" presented by an individual does not mean that the individual is clear. It just states that "this person does not have any court sentence against him".

Im on the same boat as you. My husband went to the Lebanon embassy in Egypt and they told him they can't provide this to him. The lawyer advised us to try & obtain a letter from lebanon embassy stating they cannot provide this but they also didnt want to provide that letter to my husband saying they cant give him Police chk...so we're stuck and unsure what to do. ?

I am really sorry about your situation. Why can't they provide your husband's police clearance certificate? I would document everything that you and your husband did to attempt to get the police certificate including the names of the people that you spoke to and call or write a letter to the US Embassy explaining your situation. Maybe ask your lawyer if he/she has any additional advice. They are not being cooperative, and you need to document this. My fiancée had her interview at the US Embassy in Manila on Tuesday, July 8th. The US Embassy will provide the visa to her once she submits the police clearance certificate from Lebanon. We were hoping that they would waive the requirement, but they didn't. It has been 2.5 months since she has applied for the certificate. The Lebanese Embassy in Manila told us that it will take 3 to 6 months to get it. October 22nd will make it 6 months. We are hoping that we will get the certificate sooner than later. If we don't get the certificate by October 22nd, we will request a letter from the Lebanese Embassy stating that they cannot get her certificate. It sounded like they would provide this to us after my fiancée spoke with the secretary at the Lebanese Embassy.

My fiancée suggests that you get a letter from the US Embassy requesting the police clearance certificate and then send it to the Lebanese Embassy. Maybe that will help get things moving.

My fiancée suggests that you get a letter from the US Embassy requesting the police clearance certificate and then send it to the Lebanese Embassy. Maybe that will help get things moving.

Thanks for ur suggestion and feedback. My husband went to the Lebanon Embassy again and they told him that if he has a friend in lebanon that person can get it on behalf of my husband and they will give his friend Police Clearance in 48hrs so thats what we will try to do and his friend will send it to my husband as soon as he gets it. Hope your fiance gets the certificate soon but if she has a friend currently in lebanon u may want to try doing what my husband will do. I'd recommend her friend sends to her by DHL or another safe way and hopefully ur fiance will get the visa a bit quicker.

Hope ur doing good. Just wanted to give u an update for the police certificate in lebanon.....

My husband's friend went and requested the background check and they told him they will give it to him in 10 days....so it is quicker if ur wife has someone that can help with this so u guys have it sooner.

So now my husband will wait to receive the police certificate from his friend and then send it to me to include it in the IV Package.
