I can relate to your case, Cherly Wasim.

We applied for a K1 Visa for my Fiance to come to the U.S. and have now waited almost one year, as of 10/28/15.

My Fiance's case is on it's 3rd trip around, and USCIS has touched the file, after many inquiries, and writing to my local Congress Woman, and

the White House.

Now the Congress Woman's office is telling me that someone at USCIS gave me incorrect information & they are re-reviewing his file & will send me

notification by Oct. 23/15...Today is Oct. 20!

Also the Consulate office in Havana, Cuba sent me a response to my last inquiry, the wrote ONE sentence "We will notify your Fiance" that's all.

Not telling me what they are notifying him of? Very short & to the point?

Just breath............and persevere.

We don't have thousands to spend on this, or even do this over again..........so we have no choice but to wait and see.

It's not easy to remain calm during this process, but we are not giving up.

I get negative comments from a handful of people and I have to remember it's my future not theirs, and I know what I feel in my heart and am older

and smart enough to know when something is not right.

Life is all bout choices, if we never made mistakes how could we ever learn or help someone else, right?

Please keep positive thoughts & prayers for us & I promise to keep all posted of status.

IF you don't know the answer, read,read,read............research..........keep going.

Best of luck to all,

Bell

Ahhhh yes. so familiar, but I was hoping others were not going through this. It seems to be a trend. After 2 trips I flew to India and we married last year, and after 17 months after the Fiance visa was sent back I went to India to meet my love for the 4th trip, and walked straight up and looked the interviewer in the eyes before it started. He was surprised that I was there beside my husband, and he approved after only about 3 minutes interview. I bought a plane ticket and in less than a week we arrived in the USA to start our lives together. Finally, finally, FINALLY!!!! Yes, the right prevail, but it takes thousands of tears, dollars, and heartache to do this.

Would it matter if the marriage was arranged? Example: in India arranged marriages not based on love are very common. Me and my fiancé (from India) are going against the norm for India and are in love relationship.

I wonder if interviews in India go very differently?

Would they look down on a relationship that isn't arranged?

Love marriages are more and more likely in India in this day and age, so in short, "they" do not look down on a relationship that isn't arranged. What they look for is whether or not the relationship is genuine.

Expect anything out of the norm.. significant age gaps, religious or cultural differences, previous marriage(s) and\or kids.. to attract extra scrutiny, regardless of love or arranged.

Hi. ...Congrats and i wish you happy married life.

my case is similar to yours and I'm also going through long waiting and uncertainty.

My fiancee applied for i-29 petition in April 2014, I was interviewed in Dec14 at New Delhi embassy. That must be the same lady CO who took your fiance interview in Mumbai. My case was put on hold under section 221-G and was returned to USCIS. Reason stated was insufficient evidence to prove my intention to marry my fiancee in 90 days after my arrival.

USCIS got my case back in March 2015 and informed us that they will reply us in 180 days. In September 2015, after completion of 180 days we chased them and got reply that my case is under security check and they don't ensure how long it may take.

We read somewhere that after a case was returned to USCIS by embassy will expire in 4 months. Here we checked with the USCIS and they says that our case is still ongoing under security check and is not expired.

We have approached to a congressman and he's trying to get the answer but they also gave him same reply. We are in a situation where we don't know what is it going on and we even don't have an option to reapply as it is still showing under process. Not even money to apply again or to apply for any other visa.

This is what i wished to convey you and do let me know if you have any suggestions on our case.

Congratulations on finally being together! So heartbreaking to read your struggle, but thankful you both fought! I am significantly older than my fiancé. I will be attending his interview a week from tomorrow because of all the wonderful advice from others saying it is of utmost importance to go. Many blessings and thank you for sharing your story.
