Just a general question about sending letters and cards through regular mail to Algeria.....

I've sent 2 letters since March and neither have arrived. What am I doing wrong?

I wrote the address different each time because I thought I wrote it wrong the first time and that is why it didn't arrive.

It's going to a post office box in biskra , so I thought it would get there for sure but again I'm wrong.

Does anyone have any experience sending mail to Algeria, other than the papers for the visa? I know for those papers DHL or ups need to be used.

I'm just trying to send some post cards and letters, I don't need to pay a small fortune for those.

They have a poor postal system in developing countries. It is more than likely that it has been lost in a heap of mail. Use FedEx, DHL etc. if sending urgent documents. Otherwise you will have to resort to email.

My wife sent for me several precious letter and i received it all

you have to write the correct adress that your partner provides for you

I did put the right address. I showed him the envelope before I mailed it. He said it was right.

I put it like this.....

his name

his city, the state , Algeria BP:__, 07004

and again like this.....

his name

BP:__

his city, the state, Algeria 07004

so...... i just wonder if i am writing it wrong :(

All the mail I have ever sent to my husband has arrived, and he has an address in a post office in a small town that requires me to put two city names on the address like this:

Oualid XXXXXXXX

BP XX

D'AIRA XXXXXXXXXXXX

CITY, Wilaya, POST CODE

ALGERIA

The longest it's taken has been 2 months.
